Excellent stay! Easy walk to beach and restaurants. Short drive to many other beaches Lovely host who went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and share local knowledge. Beautiful garden with multiple places to relax. Comfortable room that was spotlessly clean. Large bathroom with spacious shower. Fantastic breakfast of fresh tropical fruits, yogurt and granola and home made French style pastries. Great coffee and a wide selection of teas. Outdoor shared kitchen if you choose to cook.

We loved our stay at this small family hotel run by Pierre and Agnes. They built everything from the ground up themselves and it's absolutely charming. Our room was comfortable and we loved the rainforest shower. It feels like a small oasis - we stepped through the gate and it's a beautiful white stone courtyard with a small pool and lounge chairs, an outdoor kitchen and dining areas. They provide beach supplies (towels, boogie boards, chairs, sunscreen) which was very convenient. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Pierre bakes all the bread himself. We enjoyed the area and surrounding beaches a lot and Agnes and Pierre were always available for any questions. We were sad to leave.

There isn't much storage in the room. But we just unpacked the absolute necessities and that was fine. You don't need much at the beach.

TABASCO is a pleasant Mexican-style oasis with friendly French hosts, uniquely located near the beach, restaurants, and bars. I was pleasantly surprised not only by the generous breakfast but also by the fact that they served freshly baked pastries made by their own hands. I also appreciated that they lent me beach chairs, provided beach towels, and even did quite a lot of my laundry. Other small details—like ice cubes in containers or insect repellent—only added to the thoughtful care the hosts showed. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. I especially liked that there were two sinks in the bathroom. I highly recommend it.

Hosts were very accommodating. We stayed 5 nights and it worked out to be a convenient location for us. The room was very clean and the grounds were very well maintained. Fresh breakfast was served every morning. Location was excellent! Just a short walk to the beach and walking distance to several nice restaurants. I would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Tabasco - we enjoyed the beach that is a block away, and also many other beaches that are 5 mn drives from Potrero (Penca, Conchal, Flamingo, etc.). Agnes and Pierre are such lovely hosts, making the best fresh breakfasts every day and ensuring you have everything you need. A nice touch: they provided beach chairs and body boards for all our beach adventures, and we could use a communal kitchen to make food & drinks !

Fantastic hosts! The property is wonderful and in a great location near the beach and restaurants, but the most memorable part was the wonderful breakfast that they provided.

Very clean. Breakfast and the service from Agnes and Pierre was excellent. Location is very good, close to shops, restaurants and only 5 min walk to the beach.

Awesome breakfast (homemade marmelades and croissant and other breads), four different types of fruits, scrambled eggs, yogurt with granola, coffee from the espresso machine. The hosts are the best we have ever had (and I visited 35 countries), they are very helpful and nice people all around. Location is next to the beach (3 min walk). Room is sparkling clean, has hot water (unlike other places in Costa Rica).

Small and intimate with personal service. Beautiful breakfast. Chairs and towels were available to use at the beach. Great location to walk to restaurants and short drives to other beaches . Our room was beside a restaurant, and we were concerned about the noise, but it was not an issue for sleeping as the restaurant closes early and the room was very quiet inside . Great water pressure in the shower, with hot water as well.

Nice cozy little hotel near the beach, nice hosts, French couple, amazing breakfast, would not hesitate to go back.

Absolutely Exceptional Stay – A True Hidden Gem! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The property is stunning – impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and filled with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The attention to detail was remarkable. Our host was incredibly kind, responsive, and went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect experience. They provided everything we needed throughout our stay. The location was perfect – peaceful and, yet just a short drive to all the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. Waking up to the serene views every morning was a dream. We truly didn’t want to leave and are already planning our return. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, style, and exceptional hospitality, this is it. Highly, highly recommend!

The courtyard was beautifully landscaped and a wonderful place to eat breakfast. Our hostess was very thoughtful and fixed us a wonderful breakfast.

The inside of the room felt just a little bare - possibly could use a few paintings or some personalization - but the exterior was so wonderful that it more than made up for it.

Amazing breakfast and hospitality. Very relaxing lounge areas. Proximity to beach and town is nearly unbeatable.

It was a bit difficult to lock and unlock the door to our room.

Agnes and Pierre are wonderful and thoughtful hosts. Their breakfasts were our kids' favorite meals on the trip. The AC is cold. The beds are comfortable. They provide beach towels and other gear. At least two excellent restaurants are within blocks (Hemmingway's and La Forketta). We had dinner at Hemmingway's and watched the sunset while a talented saxophonist played Sittin' n the Dock of the Bay. It was a great experience.

It was very close to the beach and surrounding restaurants. It was a quiet area where you could easily relax. The property was beautiful.

The rooms are a little small. But okay for shorter trips.
