    The pool was very large

The place is like a 25 minute walk down a big, sidewalk-less dark road from the main town and beach area in the middle of nowhere. Our room was infested with giant ants. We spent all night killing them and then when we looked around the room we saw that there were a lot of mismatched paint marks where bugs had been killed previously. We spent one night there, didn't sleep because we were up all night killing ants and looking for the owner who was nowhere to be found. When we got up in the morning, we still couldn't find him so I ended up finding another hotel, same price, right next to the beach. When I told him about the ants he denied it and basically acted like I was lying. I sent him the videos I took of every ant we had to kill in the room and he then agreed to refund the money for only two of the nights that we had originally booked, but not the sleepless night we spent killing the bugs in our room. He then accused me of not actually sending him the money for the hotel in the first place, which I had sent him multiple receipts for. I really had high hopes for this place but it was not what I was expecting.

The property is excellent and supports a community atmosphere. Walking distance to Tamarindo and Kristain is an amazing host making sure all guests are looked after.

Challenges with water at times due to an issue beyond the properties control

I liked meeting the people staying here

Management is extremely wishy washy with lodge policies, be aware will change on short notice, more interested in being a swim lesson lodge for locals who are from other countries if you can call that a local lol the Tico's staying there are AMAZING spent the extra money and stay at a resort like best western as we moved there after a few days, Best Western includes breakfast, located a few steps from the beach has a bar, restaurant and two level Infinity pool. The owners son and girlfriend seen nice at first but extremely rude. The owner is rude. I can not stress enough for anyone looking to stay to book a hotel as this lodge is shit, a sheet for a blanket only two small pillows for 2 people to share and if you upgrade your room chances are it won't be available till the next day, wanted full refund was refused. Not friendly for Westerners only interested in accommodating their foreign guests from South America and Europe. If your a Canadian or American stay clear of this hell hole. No smoke area with a roof to keep you dry or benches. You get what you pay for 😂 I moved hotels to a chain hotel and was a better deal! This scum hotel needs to be closed ! ALSO NO HOT WATER FOR THE ENTIRE STAY !!! OWNER NEEDS TO GO BACK TO VENEZUELA AND ARGENTINA
