A bit of a walk to the main strip. Which is nice and then not. Wifi was limited, so I had to use a VPN to access some US sites. A/C controlled by staff. Not this hostel but Tamarindo the town! It is a place of too much tourism with false expectations; sticker shock is real!

The pool was a great place to cool off! Location was right around the corner from one of the main throughfares, one leads you to all the food trucks/beach access! 8 beds max, everyone had a small locker (carry-on size), A/C, bed sheets, and a power outlet w/ light within each bed. Showers were lukewarm but convenient and just what you need. You can rent boards there as well as book your next destination thru the very helpful staff. Of course, meeting the best people in the world and enjoying the free coffee in the mornings, always a blessing!

I loved everything! One of my favorite hostels by far. The pool is great, the vibe is friendly and chill, beds comfy, big bathrooms, perfect location. I’d definitely come back again! This isn’t a party hostel, which was why I chose it - but people are quite friendly and social. Quiet hours are respected.

I didn’t like the male volunteer/employee who helped at the front desk and around the hostel. He’s rude, judgmental, w/ no patience. He’s not chill enough to be there in any capacity, in my opinion.

I loved the art, the room/bunk bed set up, they had a kitchen everyone could use, the bathroom set up was great with multiple toilets and showers in each closed door stall, they offered a towel, (a lot of hostels do not offer towels), it was small and homey. The layout with separate hangout areas was good.

They did not provide oil or any spices to cook, which was quite disapointing. They only provided salt. Providing the cooking basics would be a great addition to the hostel.

This hostel was great. Big rooms, kitchen and bathroom. Everything was super clean. Quite social hostel as well. The room temperature with ac was great. I had a great stay. They even offered private surf lessons for 45$.

Not much. Maybe a little too chilled for me as a solo traveller. No bar but my room had a fridge 😉

I stayed in the King Studio and it was enormous. Really liked it. Great value for money. The staff were lovely. Easy to socialise with other travellers. It’s a chilled hostel so don’t expect beer pong, pool and bar crawls. Good location, 5 mins walk to centre of town and the beach. Very quiet at night.

We were only there 1 night so didn't really notice anything we didn't like. We loved everything.

This place was perfect for my partner and I. We are both young, adventurous travellers and when we stayed here, we felt like we stepped into another home. It was so nice to meet people from all over the world. We were in the tent and it was literally the best sleep we had in Costa Rica. We'll be back!

There were some ants when I first arrived, but there was ant spray and I had left out a piece of food when I first arrived, so it might have been my fault. With the spray and removing the food, they were gone the next day. Some guests got quite loud at night, but at the lights out time (11?) they quieted down

The king room was a huge separate building and one of the comfiest beds ever. Tons of space. The pool was so refreshing, I saw tons of birds and iguana. The people were really friendly, and the kitchen had what you need to cook + some coffee in the morning. I appreciated that it was a little out of the way of the busy part of town, ~a 10 minute walk from the main stuff in town

We loved the hostel, the glamping was very cozy and plenty of space, with lights and fan. There’s a kitchen when we can storage food and prepare meals, common area with sofas and tables and a lovely pool which was quite warm even by the evening. All the Spaces were very clean.

I can't think of anything. Maybe they could put curtains on the beds because the light coming from the garden can be disturbing during the night.

This is the best hostel I went to during my 5 weeks in Costa Rica. Beds are comfortable, there is a huge bathroom where there is shower and toilet in each unit, great kitchen with lots of kitchenware and two electric stoves. In the dormitories there are enough space for all the backpacks and stuff. They have small lockers for valuables. Nice pool with sunbeds and hammocks. And beautiful plants in the garden. Staff and volunteers and super nice and helpful, they really care about the wellbeing of their guests. And also the hostel is very clean. Close to center and supermarket. I am more than happy I chose this one in Tamarindo.

Although it says quiet from 2200 this was sometimes pushed by some guests but with a fan by your head it drowns out any other noise

Lovely place just a short walk from all the shops and restaurants in Tamarindo. I stayed in a tent and was a really comfortable and enjoyable stay. Kitchen area is used far more than I thought by many travellers. Toilets and showers are clean *they are cold showers For the price it was great staying in the tent. Areas are clean and well kept. Great hostel, I loved my stay there. All the volunteers were amazing. Super comfortable and great vibe. Has lots of space to hang out and the rooms are big. Full kitchen to cook your meals as well and free decent coffee in the morning.

The tents ars nice and a great set-up. There is a fan which is nice but no AC, so in the summer time i can imagine it being very hot. In August it was no issue.

Such a beautiful hostel with so much character. Very comfortable and clean, and the pool is so warm! Nice big kitchen and plenty of bathrooms for the dorms. It's really close to the beach as well! Really nice that they provide yoga mats for you to use for free as well.

This is one of the best hostel I ever stayed I booked glamping. Carol was amazing and she is always there to help you with anything you needed. I met some great people in the hostel also close to the beach and all the restaurants Around there. Plus an amazing pool I would recommend it to anyone thanks for the great experience.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed. Excellent internet connection if you need to take calls or do some work (around 100 Mbps). The kitchen is really clean and fully equiped, bathrooms were spotless as well, dorms with AC, 300 meters from the beach. A fantastic experience, will come back for sure.

I loved TamaHostel! I visited several hostels in Central America in the last months, and this was by far my favorite. The beds are comfortable and the dorm rooms have AC, the pool and hammocks amazing, the kitchen and bathrooms are practical and cleaned continuously, and the staff were super friendly and helpful! They can organise surf classes if you want :)

The property is very well-maintained and clean. It is fantastic for outdoor living spaces as the kitchen, eating and bathroom areas are all covered, but open air. The vibe is cosy and friendly.
