The Staff is amazing and the food very tastfull. The hostel is situated close to puerto viejo and the beach is on the other side of the road :). Also the kitchen is well equipped. Even that it is close to the road and the beach you dont hear any noise :).

Water in our room was not good. Water was on sometimes, off others. Pressure was irregular when there was water. And because of that, hot water was a rarity.

Location was great. Good value. Loved the animals on the property!!!

The electrical work on the showers looks a bit sketchy. Hot water for washing dishes would be cool. The bikes need maintenance and thereby are overpriced at 7$/day (i exchanged my bike twice, rusty chain fell off and tire deflated.) A few refinements would justify the cost. Leave a good rating and get a free beer!

Location. Lots of green within the compound and around. Located Between PV and Cocles beach. The kitchen had sharp knives and otherwise was well equipped. Mattresses and pillows were soft Kitties provide pest control. Sloths hang out in the trees and other wildlife wanders around. Leave a good rating and get a free beer!

All the staff were great, very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and the whole area was nice and relaxing and close to the beach. Shared kitchen was good and all the animals were really nice.

The rooms were small and warm. But for the price, I can deal with that!

This was one of the more affordable hostels in the area and it was awesome! The staff were friendly, it was quiet at night but felt social enough to talk to other travellers. There’s a restaurant with delicious food that holds fun activities like trivia and karaoke. I would definitely come back again 😊

location is a bit far away from town (cca 20min by feet), but the hotel is also next to the best beach in area, so it isn't a big problem:)

It is more like camping and not a hostel, you sleep in a hut with basically no amenities and it was a bit dirty and there were insects inside too. It can get loud as well (karaoke nights) - they give you a free drink for a 8 review

The shared outdoor kitchen was functional but a little grimy. Wi-fi a bit slow in some areas but good in others.

Really nice hostel. The private rooms were very comfortable and squeaky clean. AC is cold and eco filter drinking water is provided. Parking is easy and secure even with an overland vehicle. Across the road from the beach. Staff super helpful, and the on-site bar/restaurant is quite good and reasonably priced.

There are tiny bugs (not sure what they are - ants maybe) everywhere - in the rooms and kitchen - which are a little annoying when they climb into your plate, but not the end of the world. You can't flush toilet paper down the toilet, you have to throw it in the bin (not a big deal though; the bins are always present, it just takes some cognitive effort to remember instead of act out of habit).

Really beautiful location, right in the jungle with Agoutis walking around and Howler monkeys in the trees. Playa Cocles is right across the street, which is great - you can walk to the lookout point in 10-15 mins and surf at this beach (not great for swimming though, as it has strong rip tides). The bike rental was very useful and necessary because the hostel is outside of town, so you definitely need a bike to get around and it's reasonably priced. The kitchen has everything you need to cook and very cool that it's outside. Dorm rooms lock, have fans which work very well, beds are comfortable and have reading lights, and rooms have lockers which is great. Bathrooms have lockable doors for toilets and showers. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'd stay again :)

Paying a deposit for the key!

Basic, clean room with comfortable beds and good shower. Staff were all super friendly. Nice atmosphere in restaurant bar area. Great location out of town but immediately opposite the gorgeous Cocles beach.

We like that the host Jaime was super helpful, giving us tips about been safe from snakes and also Jaime offer to take us site seen on his day off and my son got sick in the bus and he pay for my daughter’s bus ticket with his own money to take my son back to the room at Tasty Dayz, he was very generous and kind to us, it’s good to have him around with all the knowledge about the sloths, he was always showing us to look in the trees for them, thank him for us!

The bathroom had a lingering musty smell. It is a very humid area and it rained a few times during our stay, so understandably it is tough to fully avoid the smell.

Great location, right across from the beach. Beautiful tropical grounds. Although the road can be busy, the accommodations are far back enough that you do not hear traffic noises from the room. Instead we slept to the sounds of the birds and woke up to howler monkeys! We appreciated having the restaurant on-site and access to bike rentals to explore the surrounding areas. Large spacious room with a mini fridge. We were also grateful to have access to drinking water.
