The Staff were amazing, informative and helpful, suggesting restaurants, trips etc It's old colonial style, but that's what makes it. Great breakfast, chilled out bar and homely feel

My room doesn’t have air condition. It was ok for me in May but it might get hot in the summer.

The house is a very old fashioned cute place with a gorgeous courtyard. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. I stayed on my first night when I arrived at St Jose and came back for another two nights before my departure.

Beautiful hotel with lots of history. Excellent deco. Staff super friendly, Christian was great telling me the story of the house and how to cook the plantain and frijoles :) Only 6 minute walk to the centre. Breakfast was very good too.

The shower head would spray all over if the knobs were turned up to high.

Excellent stay in San José. Located in a beautiful historical house, the room was a good size, clean, and with comfortable beds. The inside patio was green and sunny, and the staff were happy to go beyond to accommodate our needs. The breakfast included was varied and plenty. The dinner menu was small, but saved us on a holiday evening when everything in town was closed, and the food itself was good quality.

I'm not going to complain about anything.

The peacefulness. The old Victorian Style home brings back another Era, which is a little before my time. The bed was comfortable, and the room was big. I could step right outside to a peaceful garden area with birds walking above my head on the one platform. Breakfast outside was really nice also. I only wish I could have stayed here longer. Originally, I booked 3 days here, but their was one fella who said they couldn't accommodate my request for ice or a freezer. He said their ice machine was down, so I unfortunately had to cancel my reservation. The next place I booked that said they could accommodate my needs was bad. I was able to come back here for one day, and I had a cup cooler for my ice. The manager was sorry about the other fella and said they indeed could have gotten me some ice anytime. They were very accommodating and very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location. We were able to walk to downtown San Jose (the capital) and use public transportation. It's surrounded by places to eat and nice bars. It's in a safe and friendly area. The hotel is a lovely little place, perfect for relaxing and spending a few quiet nights, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The ambiance of the hotel in the common areas and the courtyard was very nice. The staff made us feel very welcome. We had a nice lunch there and the breakfast was good.

I had a quick one night stay but it was amazing, the staff was super nice from the moment I stepped foot into the hotel. Breakfast was also delicious. The rooms are pretty clean. Fyi, there is no air conditioning but it is very fresh. There is a garden in the center which is really nice. Location wise, super centric and close by a lot of things. Overall a great experience.

This place has beautifully restored an old building and turned it into a charming hotel with a cozy and vintage atmosphere. I’ve traveled to many places, but this one stands out because the owner personally greets guests in the morning, asks about their needs, and serves breakfast himself. It was a beautiful and memorable experience, and I highly recommend this place to others. It’s also conveniently located near downtown, which made everything more accessible. All the staff were very kind and welcoming. If I had to mention one small drawback, it would be that some facilities could use a bit of maintenance, such as organizing the TV cables. Another suggestion would be to provide bottled water in the room. I was told by a local friend living in Costa Rica that the tap water is safe to drink, so I did. However, for people who are unfamiliar with the local water quality, it’s common to avoid drinking from the tap. If the water is indeed safe, it would be helpful to provide more detailed information so guests can drink with peace of mind. Alternatively, a shared purified water station would be a great addition. What a tranquil spot in the heart of San Jose. From the outside you may think that it could be a little loud given its central location but once you walk through the front doors (and the stunning interior decor) you are met with complete serenity with a beautiful courtyard, lush greenery and beautiful Costa Rican architecture. The staff are incredible, extremely friendly, accommodating and always available. This hotel is a true gem, exactly what I needed to unwind after spending the day out in the busy streets of San Jose!
