A wonderful stay was had here. Comfortable beds and clean showers and a root top shared kitchen where you can see all the animals and birds that pass by! You are no more than a 2 minute walk from the beach and a 30 second walk from the main town.

It was a shame that a large tree had recently been cut down on the back garden, so our view wasn’t much. Next door are doing building works which were a bit noisy, although it didn’t really matter to us - don’t stay in the centre of the village if you’re after solitude.

Very comfortable room with air con and a good bathroom, in the centre of Tortuguero village. Nice balcony and a communal rooftop with coffee, filtered water and a shared fridge. Perfect for watching the night sky with a breeze! We had a 2 night stay which was about right to do some kayaking, a walk on the beach and an excellent dinner at Taylor’s Place. We were glad we’d booked accommodation in the village as otherwise we’d have had to relay on water taxis to get to the restaurants.

A kettle in the room would have been nice. Very noisy in the area during the day at the weekend, but that may apply to most of Tortuguero.

Central location in Tortuguero. Lovely private balcony area with comfortable seats and hammock. Friendly and helpful staff. Good shower and very clean. Rooftop area with seating plus coffee maker, plates and cutlery was very useful. The tours arranged via the property were very good.

Not a dislike as such, but check in is at a place nearby called El Patio. Otherwise like us you might wander into the owners home below 😆.

This is an ideal place to stay in Tortuguero. Just off the main strip and 2 mins from the wild beach. It's kept spotlessly clean. The roof terrace is a great place to unwind and if lucky catch a sunset. They happily also have a coffee machine up there. Room is a Fair size with a comfy bed. Good shower.

Quite basic and a bit dated but all you need

Great location next to activities, restautants, and the beach. Nice rooftop from which we saw monkeys and birds. Room was clean, shower comfortable, a/c felt really nice.

Great location, loved the rooftop with the little kitchenette was very useful to us. Clean space, great patio with hammock and chairs. The resident cats were a fabulous bonus. One of them hung out with us quite a bit.

The person that showed the property said he will check to get water in the roof. I did not see the water for the duration we were there. Also there is no ATM there and the tours are paid in cash.. so if you don t know about this before it is not nice to arrive without enough money.

Clean concrete. I prefer than dark wood where I don t see insects if any.

Very little but the receptionist was a touch surly… she didn’t as assist as promised with our return boat journey and looked miserable. A shame as everywhere else you are greeted with warmth.

Tortuguero is a typical Caribbean shanty type town. The location is incredible river one side and sea on the other. This property is ideally located for all and not noisy at all. Leo the nature guide was really good and generally very helpful about guest/transport issues too.

Noisy children and barking dogs and internet in and out. Bed was too firm We weren’t told of the extra expense of parking and boat ride added almost $100

We didn’t find the staff that helpful. Went to book a tour and they couldn’t have been less helpful. Ended up booking with another company.

Place was good, air con clean and lovely hammocks to chill out in. Good location in the town.

At the time of our stay there was a rooster next door, and while the bedroom windows are very well insolating, the noise was coming from the starway.

Very nice balcony and rooftop terrace over the backyard where you could observe iguanas. Kitchen utensils, fridge, coffee machine and water purifier available on the rooftop terrace. Cleaning of room and common areas were continuously taken care. 5min walk to the beach/ocean and the village center

We were advised by the company to ask for a particular private boat company for the crossing from La Pavlona to Tortuguero. We did so and faced a 2 hour wait. Luckily we walked down to where the boats were leaving and the another service kindly accepted our tickets and took us straight away. All boat services appear to charge the same price. So I would recommend asking which is the next boat out when you arrive at La Pavlona and buy a ticket with them. We were on the private boat on the way back. It took ages stopping along the village front picking people up and then was really slow because of the number of passengers and luggage. If you go with the public service you all get on the boat at the same spot which saves time. We were also told by the accommodation company to resist people trying to sell us tours and they would sort our tours for us. Few people approached us. We booked the turtle egg laying tour via the accommodation company because they said they needed to book the permit in advance but we found the canoe tour and jungle trek cheaper with another company and they were brilliant : great guides, were really informative and pointed out lots of animals and birds we had been really keen to see. So we would advise you to shop around and if you are at Tortuguero for a few nights like us you will have time to get the turtle egg laying permit the day before whichever company you chose to go with.

Nicely decorated room in a small block. Quiet location but still near centre of village , beach and river. We had a back room , I’m not sure the views or quietness would be so good in a front room. Lovely huge balcony with really comfortable chairs and a hammock. Roof terrace with a fridge , tea, coffee and milk and crockery and cutlery was a bonus, with sun loungers available too. Air con and ceiling fan both really effective to get temperature just right.

Room has a good space and is very clean. The airco is very nice and keeps the mosquitos away. The check in was easy. They offered us a combined trip of canoeing, hiking and turtle watching which was very good. Would recommend this stay.

THe AC was loud. we couldn't sleep with it on so we learned to turn it up before retiring and have the ceiling fan running. That worked. Room safe was unplugged and not usable. Did not see/hear anything like a tour desk. Maybe their website refers to the person at the dock who brings you to the hotel.

Room in large house was clean, comfortable and quiet. we had a lovely balcony with a view to the backyard and hammock. Very relaxing. Very close to beach and just in from the main walk in the town of Tortuguero with lots of shops and restaurants.
