Hotel just had the appearance of needing a bit of tlc following a hard season. Few broken tiles & a jaded feel. Sits right on main road which remains busy to quite late. Staff have a massive dog that wanders the site (no issues with that but not friendliest - barks & frighteningly launched himself twds us when saying hello). Also a few turds dumped around our car parking area which should have been seen & cleared - not the greatest sight in the morning

Nice pool to relax & breakfast included Location good for accessing park & they also helped us book an excellent horse riding activity for a half day trip

Beautiful location and great facilities. The pool is delightful and from it I saw parrots, a tiger heron and a sloth in just a few minutes. The rooms stay cool all they and I didn't even need to use the AC, although all rooms have it.

Can't really say we disliked anything!

Location seemed a bit of a bummer at first, can't really walk to other restaurants because the road in front of the hotel is tricky to walk (no pavements), but the food they serve is good and affordable. The chefs can cook, compliments. No need to eat anywhere else if you stay 1 or 2 nights I guess. You can't hear the cars on the road from the hotel, that's nice. Shower is warm, the pool is decent and they have a cocktail happy hour, lots of beers to choose from etc.

Not very walkable but I should have done my research. Ubers and the bus make it easier.

The furniture was all old and some falling apart. Money needs to be put into updating the furniture and pool and towels etc. We saw broken pool tiles and the nightstand in our room. The food was very bland.

The property was in an incredible location very close to Manuel Antonio and lots of restaurants and shops.

Staff (front desk) was rude rude rude! Not only to us, but to other tourists as well. Asking people to leave the lobby area if they were speaking to anyone prior to you entering, overcharging for children (beyond agreed upon rate).

    The pool.

We had a great experience here. The bar and restaurant provides ease as well as the pool being in a lovely natural setting. I spent time in the mornings out in the hammock on our deck bird and animal watching. Staff was welcoming and helpful.

The location is really only suitable for those with a car, as it's quite a climb up to Manuel Antonio center and there is no sidewalk on the road. On the plus side, it's secluded and you can spot some wildlife there.

Tres Banderas is a lovely hotel with good facilities such as a restaurant and a swimming pool. The room was clean and had a balcony in the back.

Price is correct for Manuel Antonio, yet it was one of our most expensive accommodation in Costa Rica.

Nice hotel, good room service, great pool with the children. Good location even though there is no view on the bay.

Communication with staff was difficult. I speak fluent Spanish and English, but found myself trying to deal with someone who primarily speaks French. Also, despite coordinating ahead of time regarding our arrival, and confirming an hour before arriving, we ended up waiting almost 30 minutes before someone came to receive us at reception.

It is a fun property, nestled in the trees close to a national park.

We didn’t have a car so needed bus to get to other restaurants if we wished. Meals at their restaurant were very good….quality, variety, presentation, fresh. The cooks did a great job.

Pool was great. Restaurant were both very good….excellent meals at the restaurant. Bit out of the way, especially if you don’t have a car but the great local bus stops at the end of the driveway. Worked well for us. Staff very good…helpful and friendly. Room very good size….bed very comfortable, shower great. Clean room and eating areas, pool, etc. some of the property could use a bit of cleanup. Bit dated but everything good and enjoyable.

Although the room wa clean, and to a point the restaurant too, everywhere else needed a good clean up. One suspects the property would greatly benefit from an independent audit in order to help it meet its commitment to health and safety.

The food here is excellent. Freshly cooked and delicious.

I, personally, didn’t like the breakfast. You have to order specific combination and you receive one bowl with two slices of fruits (1x water melon 🍉 and 1x pineapple 🍍). Not good bread, if you get some. I would prefer buffet style breakfast in this case

Good position to visit Manuel Antonio National Park. Good pool for kids to play,

This hotel oozes old world charm. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the restaurant that opens nighly is marvelous (the slightly seared tuna should not be missed). Although older the hotel is extremely clean. The pool area is relaxing, romantic and beautiful. There is a wild sloth called Gordito and a large troop of spider monkeys who inhabit the area and they gave us some of our best photo in the area.

Only one bin the room, which was tiny and in the bathroom with no lid. The receptionist was sarcastic, unhelpful and unapproachable. Spicy sauce or any sauce for flavour for the breakfast would have been nice, as it is just plain egg and plain rice. The balcony has a bad view, but the pool is lovely so it didn't really matter.

The pool was lovely and well maintained with a little waterfall that sounded wonderful whilst swimming. All the staff were lovely and friendly apart from the receptionist who was sarcastic and rude. He wasn't helpful at all so I will provide some information for you instead. The breakfast was simple and sufficient. It is rice, egg and sausage or pancakes, egg and plantain. With fruit. It would have been better with spicy sauce, but they ran out. If you are not travelling by car, there is a bus that will take you to Manuel Antonio for 380 cash from basically outside the hotel. It will also take you from quepos bus station to the hotel. It is so convenient to get around and leaves roughly every 20 minutes. The room is clean with Aircon and a balcony, you are not allowed to flush toilet paper in the toilet, there are no signs. They have open bins in the toilet, which means when you go to the toilet the smell lingers, they should have bins with lids. Could be a 10/10 stay with improvements, but still a nice place to stay.

The breakfast is served relatively late for Costa Rica standards and even though the majority of the visitors go to visit the Manuel Antonio Park with the entrance hour at 7 am, they don’t provide a breakfast before that hour so it’s not very accommodating to the needs of their guests.

    Nicely decorated, good location
