Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe only thing is that the rooms are a bit outdated.
The villas were very nice, also the swimming pool and the breakfast area. The breakfast was also very good.

CanadaThe pool and the lush surroundings were awesome! The room was great but the lack of a a TV was disappointing as darkness sets in by 6:30 and after dinner not much to do. Also the property advertised an on site bar that was not a real bar but a cooler with some wines in the office buildng. Where is the sit down for a few beers and meet for chat? Also advertised was a restaurant which there was not only the continental breakfast on site. There was an independent restaurant a short walk away which served as the bar and restaurant where they served good food and cold beers and cocktails.

United KingdomThe rooms were tired and need updating. We had a connecting door to the adjoining apartment and could hear everything the couple who were staying there. The rooms were quite dark, not helped by having to keep the curtains closed so other guests in the overlooking apartments couldn’t see in. The receptionist was not particularly friendly or helpful on our arrival.
Lovely jungle setting with monkeys and birds.

Costa RicaThe place is nice although it needs some TLC in terms of the infrastructure. Not such a nice view to see a rusted stair path from your window.
It’s close to the city center. It has a pool which is a plus but it needs to be cleaned out of bugs more often.

United StatesWe didn't like the fact that we were told that the pool was being worked on during our stay after we made the reservation. There's very little direction regarding breakfast, we didn't know if we should help ourselves or sit down we had no-one tell us what to do. There was no staff member to be found. Then, other guests saw our confusion and helped us out because they said that they had been confused too.
Breakfast was included and everyday it was a little different, it was very good. From our room, we could see spider monkeys and white-face monkeys, also birds making their way through the forest, a perfect way to start the day. Bongo is very close to Manuel Antonio National Park so access to the park is very easy.

CanadaHost was pretty low energy and seemed not to care too much. Place looks quite worn down. Only 4 of the six in our group received the full breakfast. After trying to explain a half portion extra got served. We had to go, so no time to ask again. Bit of fresh mold in the shower too. Seemed like the room was made some time ago and not really checked afterwards. One of our family had a room with a quite bad smell hanging around.
The room itself was quite nice. Love the touch with the towel Swann and fresh flowers. Room was clean except for the mold in the shower. That was at the base of the shower, so easy to overlook I guess.

Germanywifi not really fast and some of the extensions were not really good working with the rain - the beds are comfortable but squeak with every movement - on our first morning there was a guy that desperately wanted to sell some tours. Talked to every group that was there at breakfast, jumping from one table to the next, same speech and beginning always. Not so great if you just want to have breakfast and enjoy the nice terrace they have.
Great location, you can see macaws there - great breakfast, big portions, you can serve yourself as much tea/ coffee,/juice,/water and toast as you like. Different food every day - hot water, very good water pressure - friendly staff - fridge in the room

Costa RicaLack of advice from the staff, getting to know the bus stop routes would've made a big impact. Bigger pool deepness specially if you don't know how to swim can pose a danger.
Maybe incorporate a more typical breakfast specially for tico travelers who are used to get it in the morning.

LithuaniaThe surrounding area could be a bit more looked after. The bigger pool was very deep and we couldn’t stand up because it’s around 2 meters deep. And the shower near the pool didn’t worked.
It’s in the very good location, also had a parking and separated little houses. Also the breakfast was pretty good. During our stay we saw a lot of wild life - monkeys, lizards and parrots!

ColombiaThe value for money is not good, rooms were ok but very simple, the bathroom smells weird, no shampoo, no cleaning service. We also had a small incident with the breakfast (fruits were spoiled).
The hotel is located near to a nice beach and not far from Manuel Antonio. Staff was friendly.

United KingdomRoom was basic however had a working air conditioner which was great. Bed was a bit small and very noisy, every time one moved the other woke up. pillows need to changed. they are flat! the most disappointing part was the breakfast, i could not eat the cocked one, the scramble eggs were black. the other accompaniments did not look fresh or for human consumption. One of the morning the milk was off, the butter looked like mayonnaise going bad. there were staff there but they were not trained. the fruit was kept in big plastic containers. not appealing at all. i really don’t understand why they don’t invest in providing fresh scramble eggs and put some ice under the fruit. the restaurant itself is nice and has good views, in the evening they serve Mexican food however due to the poor quality of breakfast we did not want to risk and have another bad food experience. we went to the restaurant near by everyday during our stay.
location is great, the pool is well maintained. there is a beach that you can walk to but it will take about 20 minutes in and down hills. The last bit is pretty steep so make sure you have closed shoes. there were many animals around the property and there is a nice restaurant near by on the main road

United KingdomRooms were clean but very tired and in need of refurbishment. The bed was stupidly high, uncomfortable, and creaked so much when you moved that it woke me up and gave me the feeling the bed was going to break. Ac didn't work properly. As you pull into the property there is a rubbish cage at the top of the road and the doors are broken, so we were met with an unsightly view of rubbish strewn everywhere and vultures taking their pickings. I believe the rubbish cage serves a number of properties, so not entirely the hotels fault but disappointing nevertheless. Also resulted in bad smells wafting about.
