The restaurant was a little pricey, but there were lots of other places to choose from.

The staff were amazing. Always friendly and ready to help. It was also spotless.

I did not have a single complaint about Villas Kalimba.

Diego and Carolina were amazing. They went above and beyond our expectations, helping us with directions to the beach, restaurants and even what highways to take to our next destination. The breakfast was wonderful as well--the plate heaping full of fresh fruits, tasty eggs and plantain.

We had an amazing stay at Villas Kalimba! From the moment we arrived, Laura and Carolina made us feel so welcome—it truly felt like home. The pool was beautiful, offering a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the tropical surroundings. The villa was comfortable, well-maintained, and equipped with everything we needed, including a kitchen for cooking meals and preparing daily smoothies. The peaceful, private setting was ideal for unwinding, yet the common areas were well-equipped and convenient. We can’t thank the staff enough for their warmth and hospitality. We’d love to come back—highly recommended!

Villas Kalimba is absolutely perfect! From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. The staff are so kind and welcoming—they truly go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The location couldn’t be better. It’s right in the middle of everything, with all the restaurants and bars just steps away. And the beach? It’s literally across the street! The convenience of it all made my stay so easy and enjoyable. The property itself is quaint and cozy, with such a peaceful vibe. It’s beautifully maintained and felt like my own little oasis in the heart of Samara. If you’re looking for a spot that has it all—amazing staff, the best location, and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere—this is the place. I had such an incredible time and can’t wait to come back!

I spent 4 nights at Villas Kalimba with my kids (13 years old) and we loved it. The villas are conveniently located across the street from a beach access which allowed everyone to come and go as they pleased, when they pleased. The premises are cozy, well maintained, well equipped and offer a great relaxing atmosphere. It is a small compound where every villas has its privacy as well as having access to a pool and a good restaurant. The staff is friendly, responsive and helpful. From our standpoint, it was perfect and I would definitely go back there if I were to visit Samara again. Thank you Carolina for making our trip so enjoyable (and easy)

For us it was perfect.

Very helpful staff. Excellent villas with plenty of space. The bedroom AC was nice especially on the hot evenings. Close to everything: The beach was a 2 minute walk across the street. The Saturday farmers market was just behind the property. Easy walk to shops in town. Just a great place to stay.

We had a fabulous 8 day stay here. The staff were so helpful and kind. The location and proximity to the beach was fabulous. Small super market next door that was so continent And had most things you could need. Food and drinks were delicious.

There's really nothing notable that I did not like.

Everything was fantastic! I can't express how much I appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of the ENTIRE staff. The villa was spacious and clean, full kitchen, large bathroom, AC in the bedroom, comfortable bed, very private, large patio in front, hammock was wonderful for a quick snooze! Internet worked great for those that may need it. Short walk to the bar/rest/spa. The poolside bar/restaurant was set up really nice, and food and drinks were fantastic! For as close as you are to the street, Kalimba felt like you were in another world most times. Lots of shade as well, which came in handy on the hot sunny days! If you are travelling without a car/transport, this place is wonderful as you are so close to EVERYTHING in Samara, but you're still tucked away a little bit, away from a lot of the hustle/bustle and noise. Short walk to the beach with easy public access, very close to the nearest grocery, and a quick walk to all the food/drink options in town. Also felt very safe the entire time. Samara is a VERY safe town from my experience, great for solo travelers and families, and Kalimba was very secure and safe with the main gate closed overnight, but still easy access to get in if you were out later. Above all that, I can't say enough about the staff!! Everyone was so friendly, spoke great English, and smiles all day every day! Everyone was so helpful with anything I needed, and I felt very much at home for my entire stay. I would be surprised if you can find a better place to stay this close to the beach/town of Samara!! If you are looking for a safe, close, friendly place, with great amenities, this is your place. Please say hi to Ginger for me! Mi gata favorita en toda Costa Rica!

Diego was great! He was very helpful and let us know a lot of the "tricks" about ATM machines, door locks, and getting around Samara. He was very kind and welcoming and helped make our stay in Samara a great experience despite all the rain:)

Location perfect; very close to the town and beach but still very quiet. Diego and the team were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Villa was lovely, very clean and spacious.
