How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewExcellent Property - modern, clean, great pool, amazing staff and owners. Nothing but great things to say. And some cool elements like a projection tv with a massive screen in your room. And to be clear, the Wet name and the “adults only” branding doesn’t mean any alternative lifestyle theme - it just a great respite for adults - no kids, great outdoor bar by the pool with good music etc. Just somewhere you don’t take kids - nor are they welcome.

Verified reviewWet hotel Perfect Tamarindo Retreat This new Hotel is quietly located just a very short walk (2min) to downtown and just a few minutes to the beach. Staff exceptionally kind, courteous and knowledgeable. Check In\Out effortless. Rooms super clean and nicely decorated with all modern amenities and fantastic bedding (Mattress and pillows are great) Large walk in showers with good water pressure and hot water. The pool area has clean comfortable lounges and decor with showers and bathrooms. Cabana bar offer all beverages with a good food menu and great service. Overall this hotel borders on perfect for a CR beach town place to stay and relax. My stay here was exceptional and would have no hesitation recommending to friends and family. Just a Note: The adult only concept of this hotel is ideal for me. It's simply is a no kids hotel and not the connotation one may usually make with "Adult Only" hotels in C and S America. LOL just so ya know... I don't hate kids.. It's just nice to not have them around sometimes when trying to relax and decompress.

Verified reviewFront desk extremely helpful. Entire staff couldn't be more helpful. Adults only! Saltwater pool! -huge plus. open 24/7. The bartender is a mad scientist- takes his work as a mission. It is his worklife passion. All mixers and juices are organic, extracted and crafted by him. Try the no sugar ginger lemonade with hibiscus syrup- drink it all day- or add some Hendrick's gin. He makes his own incredible ice cream- no added sugars- try with his Affagato with Madagascar Vanilla and espresso or chocolate fudge gelato. Chill, adult vibe-Bar is open air, open late. Breakfast 50 meters away at Mariajuana- excellent, inexpensive. 8 minute walk to Tamarindo beach, or try Playa Langasta- nicer or hang at the well appointed quiet pool. This place is new- just me and 2 other guests. It should be full to capacity. And the price was way too cheap! Why spend more? Barely more than the hostel single room across the street. This value won't last when the word gets out.

no mini fridge in room. a nice cold bottle of water in the middle of the night when full of alchohol hits the spot, would have been the icing on the cake if had a mini fridge.

Verified reviewThe staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool bar area was beautiful and a great place to meet fellow travelers. The room was modern with a spacious shower and comfortable bed. Self-serve coffee at the bar every morning. We would love to go back!

Verified reviewWe were not able to enjoy the food, but Greg and the hotel staff were very friendly, the pool was very good, the location was excellent as was very close to the town and the rooms were good.
The place is very nice, maybe because it was relatively new at that time the rooms were not numbered, It is necessary to promote the bar/restaurant area more.
