Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe restaurant was only open for brekfast and so there was nowhere to eat in the evening, despite all the adverts! The options were a 30 minute walk into town and taxi back or order a take-away meal to be delivered to the hotel. We were not informed at checkin that the restaurant was not open but staff did help us to order a meal to be delivered on out first night. The swimming pool was closed (desoite the advertising billboard) On 2 days out of our 5 night stay, the water supply failed. After a long delay, staff supplied a large bottle of water for washing. We had no water on the morning of our departure.
The hotel is perched high above the town and we had a lovely sea view from our balcony. Breakfast was served in the restaurant, and was self service with a good selection.

NetherlandsBreakfast was sometimes good, but also lots of times there was almost nothing to eat anymore. They change the breakfast times really very often, without any notice. There were days the breakfast was available untill 10.30. Or untill 9.30 or 8.30 or 10.00. Only once they put a note under my door to let me know the next morning the breakfast was untill 10.00. Also one morning the guard locked the breakfast room! Although I arrived before closing time. Very bad service! The location is off track. It is 30 minutes walking into town centre. Mostly there was no soap in the bathrooms. THE SWIMMING POOL AREA WAS CLOSED IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2024
I stayed twice at Pombas Resort. It is quite a big location on the top of a hill, overlooking the ocean and a part of the town. The view is very pittoresque. And the rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Everyday the cleaning ladies were cleaning all the rooms and did a good job! Some rooms are really large, others are smaller. Wifi connection is excellent. Beautiful sunsets. Nice balconies. Free water in the fridge. And for sale: Beer and snacks at the reception. All the receptionists are very friendly and helpfull. I could stall my trolley when I left by boat to the beautiful island of Santa Antao.

CanadaThe hotel has no character whatsoever. The breakfast was terrible - the bread and pastries tasted like they were a few days old. They advertise a pool, but it was only half full of water and not much bigger than a bathtub. The hotel is quite far from town, and it wasn't always easy to get a taxi. The price certainly did not reflect the quality of the hotel. Only stay here if you have no other option.
It was fairly clean. They had a kettle in the room. The receptionist, Hemington, was very friendly and helpful.
