Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwayThis pousada is very nice, cozy and clean. The rooms are simple but nice with stunning nature right outside the bedroom window. The people running the place is extremely helpful. And the owner makes the most tasteful breakfast and dinner. This place is more than worth the money. We loved staying there and can't wait to come back.

AustraliaThe management of reservations and rooms seems haphazard, and they appear to overbook. The place has the rustic vibes of a hostel or gite, so be flexible, especially when you see the hardship of the local surrounds. There is no internet upstairs, so I don't understand why the computer room sits idle upstairs when it could be moved downstairs!! No English spoken, so it would be an idea to clarify some points on a notice in English. It's a shame the lovely views on the balcony aren't maximized with some pot plants and tables to sit out there. Always full of washing, but that could be put aside if necessary. Whoever owns the place could do more to maximize its potential!
The location in the mountains is superb.as are the friendly staff..Great meals provided, but you need to be clear what you ask for and perhaps ask the cook to limit the salt! The place employs local women which is admirable.

NetherlandsI suggest to upgrade the terrace by placing some tables, chairs and plants from where you can enjoy views of the surroundings, drink a beer and chat with other visitors.
Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was extensive and a good start before hiking.

AustriaThe only thing I wouldn't give the highest score is the bathroom, it was clean but not very practical
The staff was super friendly! It was also nice to participate to this project that empowers local women. The beds were nicely made and clean, the wifi is good, and in the kitchen everything is at your disposal.. We received a late evening snack and a very nice breakfast while enjoying the beautiful mountain view from the garden, in which you can choose the herbs you like to make an infusion <3

PolandIt is a very good place, if you look for an authentic village. It is managed by the local women association, and it is managed well. All is clean and well-kept. Good local food. The village is very quiet. The view is spectacular and the sunsets are idyllic. The village nightlife concentrates around a shop run by Antonio and it is a good place to meet the villagers. They welcome visitors. I posted more stories and images at nomadicmind.org

IrelandIf you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of town life and hear the crickets sing as you sleep, this is your place. The staff welcome you like family and they care so much about your experience. The food was so fresh and lovingly prepared by the gracious and helpful hosts. We left our phone charger behind and one of the staff went the extra mile to deliver it by hand at our next destination. We really can’t rate our experience higher and knowing that we were supporting women in business in this mountain region added an extra connection to the place. Thank you. Rachel and Malcolm.

SpainI liked everything.
Really amazing experience, one of the best places in Cabo Verde. The ladies in the Women association that manages the BnB are really friendly, they received me with open heart. They even made cake for my birthday and celebrated together. Really authentic experience, they will stay in my heart. Eneida even took us at a local event in the village. The views are stunning from the window and terrace, the rooms are big, the food delicious. You can walk 10min, 30min or 1-2h or more and still have great views. Easy to take colectivo (aluguer) to go to the most important hikes from the island. The breakfast is very delicious and big so some days I didn't need lunch. They can arrange colectivo (aluguer) to pick you up from the ferry for only 5 euros.

United KingdomI can't think of anything. Food serving sizes were so enormous so I did feel a bit bad/awkward leaving so much food behind on the table. I just hope the remaining food from the serving platters was not wasted!
Wow - if the other reviews don't give you an idea of what a hidden gem this place is - let me help! I was met at the Porto Novo ferry terminal by the driver that would take me all the way to the beautiful pousada, it took over two hours to arrive do make sure you go to the bathroom and take some water quickly before meeting with the driver (collective transport). Once arriving I was greeted by the two lovely ladies who showed me to my room and prepared a coffee and snack for me. Dinner was offered at a reasonable price and the serving sizes were enormous, along with a giant breakfast which was included, delicious tasty food with fresh herbs and produce cooked just for me when I wanted it! I wished I could have stayed longer than two nights, in fact I only walked along the roads on either side of the pousada as the surroundings are that impressive, this stay was a breath of tranquility from the rushed pace of life in Mindelo... As a solo female traveller I felt safe and confident at all times and the staff and attention were amazing. Clean room, basic but very clean, hot water in the shower and amazing views from the windows I could stare at all day (and did!). I would return in a heartbeat!! Thank you ladies for the lovely stay.

NorwayThe house is located in a very peaceful area surrounded by amazing nature and the view from there is spectacular. There are only a few other small hotels around the area so you feel very connected to the local life and villages. It’s uphill to get to the accommodation but it’s totally worth it to stay there . You can walk around the whole area for a day and witness the breathtaking sights. This guest house supports the women in the community and everything is very authentic. The stuff there don’t speak English but they made me delicious food and even accompanied me to explore the area. It was truly a special experience!!

GermanySuper nice women, very good food, also vegetarian! They were very helpful and gave us a lot of tips, organized a ride and got someone pick us up from the port. A bit up a hill with a rough road but the views are great. The money they make goes to families of the village and they have some facilities for the kids of the village to work on computers. Recommended!

If you are looking for an opportunity to get in touch and support a beatiful local community this is the place to be. You will eat (the best!) local food and if you’re willing to, you will be embraced by a whole community that is always smiling and likes a good chat. the breakfast and dinners are plentiful and very very good. You can easily pass on having lunch during the day when you are hiking. the rooms are very confy and you will have all you need. the view and the surroundings are stunning. this is an association created and led by local women. they will arrange the transportation if you ask for it.
