We were unlucky, there were problems with the sewage system when we arrived. The smell in the common area on the first day was bad but they got it fixed within a few hours.

If you're a hiking enthusiast this is for you. We stayed four nights and did a different hike every day. There is a parks office with maps and information closeby. The menu is small but the food is great. The breakfast is very nice. The staff are helpful. The views from the rooms and terrace are exceptional.

Best food, stunning surrounding (absolutely beautiful view into the valleys and mountains and super tracks for hiking), absolutely clean, really comfortable and well done (the rooms, the house and all), super charming and friendly staff, quiet and nicely fresh during the night. Absolutely recommendable.

Cute little place in the mountains, 10 min from the entrance to the national park. Great homemade food, prepared by the lovely ladies in the kitchen.

The Wifi was broken when we were there, but they were busy fixing it. It only worked in the lobby.

Location is great for hiking in the mountain. Personal is very kind, food is super, every clean and nice rooms.

The room was a bit dusty. It is a bit expensive compared to others in the island.

There wasn't any soap or shampoo in the bathroom. Also they should install an AC in the room or a window mosquito net because even with the cool temperature there are some mosquitos and so if you close the window to get rid of the mosquitos it can get pretty hot in the room.

I find the room a bit small and with not enough storage place for the luggage or the clothes. One more comment: our room was on top of the kitchen - so you would wake up very early with the people in the kitchen preparing the breakfast - which can be fine if you go early hiking :)

Nice place, nice ambiance, like a mountain cabana. Staff helping with our requests, easy to pay by card (Revolut incl.). Cute cat that entered by the window during the night and slept at the bottom of our bed :) Maybe for the people to be advised: there is no other resto or places to go out in the evening - we had our car and we would go after the hike to Tarrafal, at the beach (20 min drive). But there are also the 'collectivo' and the 'pick-up' cars that would cost you 2 euro for the ride. Or the staff would arrange for a taxi / transfer.

There was a leak by our toilet that was already there when we arrived, so it looked like they hadn't checked the room properly before we arrived. However they then came quickly to mop it up and called a specialist to come and deal with it.

Amazing location, very friendly staff, lovely food, our room was the one at the top and had the most incredible views. While we were there there was a power cut (not their fault, we assume) and they helped us out by turning on their generator so we could have a shower.

I would just change the toilet doors. You can see through, and I didn't have a full feel of privacy. That's an easy change.

We were traveling during the dryer season, so the surrounding area of the national park wasn't that magnificent, but the moment we stepped inside the lodge it changed into a paradise. It's such a lovely place with lovely stuff, amazing views, tasteful decoration and great food. They even prepared a small breakfast for us the night before or super early departure. Oh and the bed was very comfy too!

There wasn’t any space for parking so we were a bit nervous about the car on the side of the road. Our shower also had little to no water pressure, which was a little disappointing because we spent all day hiking. The host made up for it though.

The views were stunning and the room was spacious and comfortable. Our dinner was exceptional as well with very good recipes and ingredients.
