Our family and friends booked both houses. The location is situated right on the main square of Pano Arodes village, creating an amazing experience. The houses are equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a barbecue. Akamantida Platea is the perfect choice if you want to explore various nature trails and wineries in the Paphos region of Cyprus.

    No dishwasher.

The location of the place is remote, calm and authentic. You have good restaurants in the villages close by. The place itself has a fine terrace with a natural shade from the grapes. The host offered us to stay a few hours longer, as there were no bookings after.

The host was super controlling and passive-aggressive sometimes. She didn't inform us about the location of the key till the moment we arrived at the door and waited till she replied. She shared the location of the place only when we were already approaching the place. Be careful, as Google Maps shows you the pass through the tiny streets where not every car can pass. There is a much easier pass through the centre of the village. To our surprise, we also were not staying in the place we booked. She assigned us to the Akamantida Platea 2, the back of the same house. When we asked her about it, she said that she listed several places under the same account in the booking, which is quite misleading. She refused to locate it in the reserved spot. On the key you have an attached magnet, which is not removable, this magnet is the only thing which activates electricity ( lights, ventilators, fridge, freezer). We were travelling with our dog and with the heat wave we needed to have at least a ventilator running during the day, which was not possible in this case, so we had to keep the door unlocked. There is no conditioner and windows on one side of the house are blocked by metallic shelves, so the air is super hot even with opened windows during the night. You pay by cash to the person who is coming to pick it up, no receipt is provided. The parking is on the street, but as soon as we arrived and were putting out the begs, the neighbour came to us and told us that we couldn't park there. He was often coming to us when we were arriving and looking at what we were doing.

    Property response:

I thank the guest for having found a few positive words about the village, the restaurants, the terrace, and my offer to make a late checkout if they wanted. My behavior is never aggressive towards my guests. I sent the link to the house when they were approaching so that they would find the exact place. I even sent a photo of the spot where they would find the key. The route to the village, I am sure everybody can find it on Google. And it's not my fault if Google takes people from another way, which has narrow streets. The choice of Akamantida Platea 2 was their's, and I urged them if I they had any doubt to consult with Booking.com. The magnet on the key has a purpose. To prevent people from detaching the key and leave the house with lights and fans on. The fridge is exempted. The main door opens only if somebody has the key, so there is no need to be locked during the night. The part where windows are blocked by metallic shelves, I didn't understand. The windows can open widely, and all guests comment that when they are open, they don't need even the ventilators. Payment in cash was noted to them before their arrival. If they wanted a receipt, they had only to ask for it. I would have sent it by email. The parking is on the street, so we can not control what neighbors do. My place has never been reviewed less than "9" in the past 8 years, which exists as a lodging. Neither has my approach towards my guests, and certainly nobody complained that I am aggressive!!!!

The location is great, in the beautiful village centre, near the bar/shop. It is also close to the Avakas Gorge Canyon. It contains really everything you need. It has the terrace where you can eat meal in the sun.

Property was very well equipped the cottage was a large traditional stone building with a fire and a bit quirky and we was able to take our dog. also the proprietor was very accommodating helpful and friendly *also not far from Adonis baths waterfall*

The village is a little more remote than we expected but was only a short drive to nearby restaurants.
