How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe room smelled very bad. The bed was impossible to sleep in because of the bad odour of the pillows. Was like a mix of poop and sour odour. Honestly I wanted to just leave the hotel in the middle of the night. I just stayed there one night but was one of the most miserable nights of my life. The breakfast included was awful. The ham smells like it was bad. And cups, plates and cutlery seemed dirty.

Verified reviewThe room itself was quite nice, clean enough, with great A/C, and a comfortable bed. The location of the hotel itself is good, the surrounding buildings are a bit run-down, but you are in the center in 2 minutes. The waterfall shower was nice. The breakfast tasted great, but limited options, so we only went there twice during our stay. There were three parking spots next to the entrance.
The lady at the reception did not seem like she wanted to be there at all, didn't bother saying hello, getting up, or lifting her head when we arrived, and neither the following days. Very unfriendly and unprofessional. We had no towels the first day, and had to ask twice to finally get some late at night. There is no hairdryer in the room. You have to go down to "borrow" it from the reception and return it after you are done. The fridge broke on the second day and was replaced by another one, which also didn't work. We later found out that it was the socket that did not work, and they didn't bother testing if it even worked when they replaced it. The breakfast does NOT include coffee, you have to pay extra for that. Water damage on the bathroom ceiling.

Verified reviewReally nothing
We stayed at Roseum hotel for 4 nights and the overall experience was terrible As soon as we entered the hall we thought the hotel was under constructin the hall was so bare! The receptionist was really friendly she didn’t say hallo or welcome she just asked : “ passports”! The room was bare too and the cleanliness leaves much to be desired, we had to clean wardrobe and bedside tables before placing our clothes The bed sheets had been changed but the duvet cover and the second pillow covers had not they were all crumpled. In the bathroom the wooden parts of the cabinet under the basin were ruined and chipped Twice in four days towels were removed but not replaced because they had run out and once the room was not cleaned The towels themselves were stained frayed and sometimes torn and full of holes At this hotel nothing is taken care of and I wonder how it gets a rating higher than 8 . Personally I would not recommend it to my worst enemy

Verified reviewStaff was not welcoming or accommodating. When asking for parking locations, directions were not clear. Hotel room was very basic and third bed provided was a very poor cot and had to request additional towels for the third person.

Verified reviewGood location. Comfy room with good shower.
Staff were a bit off. There was hardly ever anyone at the reception, the “back in 20 minutes” sign was almost a permanent fixture. Check in process was weird, the bloke thought we were checking out even though we had just entered the building with our luggage and asked us to sign a blank piece of paper with a pencil to complete check in. No coffee at breakfast.

Verified reviewThe lady checking us in and out was so so helpful, we turned up a little early for check-in exhausted, and she managed to find us a room early to accommodate us, she was very kind and friendly. The balcony was nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a bottle of wine. Comfy bed also.

Verified reviewThe bed was great, we slept amazing, the breakfast was ok - limited selection, however it was tasty and filling. Our room was cleaned almost every day, apart from our last one when we noticed that there were clean towels in the room, but the sheets were not changed, and the floor was dirty. The hotel is nice, the staff is very friendly and helpful, they were nice enough to make small adjustments to our breakfast, to accommodate our preferences.
The bed sheets were stained, probably with blood. In the restaurant zone the cutlery was sticky, as well as the salt and pepper shakers. The glasses and coffee mugs, as well as the plates were stained and not very well cleaned. Lack of coffee included in breakfast... At least black coffee should be offered for breakfast given that the breakfast is included in the price of the room. There was a bad smell in the bathroom, probably from the plumbing, but that's most likely a country-wide issue.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was great, you can choose from a menu different types of plates with eggs, ham, cheese, tomato etc. You can also have pancakes, fruits or granola. The location was great, close to the beach, center and restaurants. The staff was great, especially the kitchen and bar staff.
The rooms are smaller than in the photos, probably the photos are taken several years ago. Some rooms have lots of mold, in other rooms there are lots of ants. They also have some big cockroaches, on the stairs and in some rooms. Our friends had to deal with mold and roaches in their rooms — we got lucky with just ants. Also, the rooms does not have irons and hairdryers as it is mentioned in the room facilities, you have to ask the reception to “borrow” for a few hours, but none of them are working.
