How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Breakfast - The water glasses had a very unpleasant odor, similar to bad feet, and we had to ask the waiter for a clean set. The French fries also did not seem freshly prepared; they appeared to have been cooked the day before and then reheated. This is unacceptable, especially in a 5-star hotel. Room Service: The menu is very limited, offering only a few options. It may be helpful to review what Adams Hotel provides for room service, as it could give you an idea of the wider variety available at a similar price point. Adults Pool – Pool Bar: We were informed at reception that the pool remains open until 20:00. However, by 18:00 the waiter told us to place our last order because the bar would be closing shortly. How does it make sense for the pool to stay open until 20:00 while the bar closes at 18:30? In addition, the pool itself was very dirty—not with insects floating on the surface, but with actual dirt, giving the impression that the pool was not being properly maintained.

Since we arrived with a toddler, we would have been happy if there was a possibility to free up part of the minibar in favor of a refrigerator for our use so that we wouldn't have to go out for every meal and could store a few things.

Verified reviewThe premises are pleasant, with nice pools and well-kept gardens that create a relaxing environment. The outdoor areas are tidy and offer a comfortable space to spend time during the day.
When we checked in, it was made clear that we could have breakfast at both Almyra and Annabelle. However, when we went to Annabelle before 10, the staff made sarcastic remarks implying we should not be there and even suggested someone would be “charged” for sending us, making us feel unwelcome. Back at Almyra, breakfast was equally disappointing. Staff rushed guests to finish, started clearing the buffet early, and created a very unwelcoming atmosphere. At 10:30, the air conditioning was switched off, and when I asked a waiter, he confirmed it was hotel policy to do so in order to make guests leave. This left both guests and staff sweating and is completely unacceptable for a luxury hotel. The quality of the coffee was also poor, and the air conditioning in our room was ineffective, noisy, and kept us awake. I raised my complaints at reception, but nothing was done to address or compensate for the experience. Overall, the staff seemed unhappy and demotivated, which reflects poor management and damaging policies. It is a shame that such a beautiful and expensive hotel left such a negative impression. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

Verified reviewVery spacious room with a proper third bed for our teenage daughter. Breakfast was very good. Extremely clean and very thorough daily housekeeping service. Staff were helpful and friendly.
It was a long and confusing walk to our room which was next to the spa. We had a beautiful view of the sea but there is no beach at the hotel which was disappointing, and there is no direct access to the sea. The restaurant next to our room was 16+ so our 14-year old daughter felt unable to eat there.

The staff at the breakfast buffet were all, with no exception, unfriendly. In general, the service of the hotel was below my expectations. We paid so much money for 5 star hotel to receive an average service. I don't think I will ever go back.
