Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CyprusThe room needed attention, ie door handle to bathroom falling off , cracked sink and floor tiles . Bins were not emptied daily , and room was quite dusty , one bedside lamp did not work , when arrived old tenants water etc in fridge . No tea coffee making facilities in room . The pool was beautifully clean but difficult to access and no place to lounge around , sun loungers need attention as well as the surrounding area. However all this said I still enjoyed it as its not something that really puts me off but definitely will do others . It's very traditional if you want all "mod cons" this hotel is not for you
The host did everything he could to make your stay enjoyable . The view and setting was very peaceful . It was quiet and very quaint . Breakfast area inviting . Air con worked perfectly.

United StatesThe rooms are a good size and there was a nice deck. The bathroom had a pretty strong mildew smell and the shower was quite weak.
The dining area was a beautiful inner courtyard covered with grape vines and grapes! Very inviting and idyllic.

CyprusThis place is a time capsule in Cypriot culture. Old family house to become a hotel, this building is built beautifully and organically. Akis, the owner, he is the heart of this place, he runs the place with the spirits of family heritage over there. Very hospitable, loving and caring person with respect towards his guests. This place can easily be your home at home away.

United KingdomBeware there is only Ambelikos to eat and drink in village, if you want more 10 minutes drive to Agros
Hotel is as described, rustically authentic,, we enjoyed the hospitality of owner Akis, who could not be more helpful, not a 5 star hotel if thats what you are looking for! If you like peace and quiet in a traditional village Ambeliksos is ideal and for visiting other villages and walking trails in the beautiful Troodos mountains

The property had a nice feel and is set in a very picturesque location. We had a lovely evening in the communal area which had a fire place which the staff lit for us

CyprusBreakfast was a standard plate offered by the management, but no selection was available. However, for what it was, it was good, nothing special. We realised the room didn't have a bottle of water available a bit late and there are no nearby shops to buy. The management is not present after 21:30 so we had to wait till the morning for breakfast. No slippers as well, bring your own.
Very nice view, from the little balcony. Great sturdy double bed and clean room. Traditional surroundings make it worthwhile.

IsraelThough, overall, we were satisfied with our stay, there were several things that could be improved. For starters, the bed in our room was high up and we needed to climb up to it, a feat that was made more difficult by its squishy Ikea mattress. We joked that falling out of this bed was certain death, but it was not far from the truth. With respect to the fireplace, it was something that we were very much looking forward to, however that fireplace was designed to be seen and not to warm the room or for the soothing crackling sound that a fire makes. This was because there is (quite understandably) a smoke detector in the room and so the fireplace has a door that needs to be kept closed at all times. Nonetheless, it was relaxing to see the fire burning behind the glass. In general, the place could use some general upkeep. The jacuzzi had to be filled with the showerhead and didn't work other than as a bath. The door handle to the bathroom kept falling out, the sitting chairs in the room were uncomfortable, and we needed to specially request a kettle for the room so that we could make tea and coffee - a request that was graciously granted. There is a communal area in the hotel, but it was unattractive and I think that it could be a place for guests to meet during the evenings rather than stay in the rooms - especially since the TV in the room was so small and placed off to one side. Lastly, we were there during the peak holiday season and the hotel was woefully understaffed. By that I mean that there was exactly one employee who had to contend with the running of an entire hotel including breakfast, cleaning, washing laundry, guest requests, etc. Not surprisingly, we needed to request fresh towels and our room was only cleaned once during our stay - there is simply only so much that one person can do and I thank them for, nonetheless, being so solicitous under the circumstances.
We were looking forward to staying at the Ambelikos Traditional Agrohotel as a way of staying in a more rural and mountainous corner of the country. The town of Potamitissa did not disappoint and definitely provided the peace and quiet that we were looking for while also serving as a good base to explore the region. Our hotel room was in the upper area and had a working fireplace that we greatly enjoyed. For 20 euros, you can receive a crate full of chopped firewood that, in our case, lasted for three nights. The room also had a small but convenient balcony that looked over the village and was a great place to sit in the afternoon and evening - even in December. Lastly, our room also had a large jacuzzi and twenty-four hour hot water that was definitely appreciated by us. As for breakfast, it is served from eight to ten AM and includes, one egg (either scrambled or hardboiled), several slices of cheese and salami, chopped and sautéed hotdog, some bread, jam, butter, and either coffee or tea. It was simple, but more than enough to start the day. During our stay the Taverna restaurant that serves dinner was closed, so I cannot judge it. All in all, we enjoyed staying at the Ambelikos and it has all the trappings of a country lodge.

CyprusI really wish there was a kettle in the room or a coffee machine. Breakfast is at 8 o clock and for families that is quite late. Also, we could hear the people from next door even though they weren't very loud.
The location was perfect, near to Agros and Kyperounda. The room was very warm and quite big. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was really nice but again I would appreciate a bigger variety of coffee selection.

CyprusThe bathroom was really outdated, yet clean. Breakfast was on the poor side. We received 2 slices of salami, 2 slices of turkey , 2 slices of yellow cheese and 3 slices of halloumi plus 2 fried frankfurters and marmalade for 3 people. Coffee (Nescafe) and packed juice should definitely change.
The hotel is very cosy kept in a traditional way, which makes it cute. It's located in a really quiet, picturesque area. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was very big (could be smaller and a room could be even bigger).

IsraelThe breakfast was not to our liking, with no vegetables, only eggs (boiled or omelet), cheese, and sausages/pastrami. Mosquitoes are an issue even when using the sealing fan and the anti mosquito replant provided.

DenmarkDon’t expect too much. It’s rather simple. But good enough. We stayed one night on our roadtrip, which was just fine. Not really agroturism - no selfmade products visible or beeing done at place. There is of course served mixed grill for dinner and breakfast, which was okay both of them, but nothing special.
Quiet place in the mountains with a fine view from the rooms and the balcony. Some would say remote, but thats not to be percepted as bad. Due to some miscommunications we needed an extra room and it was possible for a little fee. John in the reception made you feel welcomed. Swimming pool small and cold, but functional.

CyprusWe were happy with everything ... but the mosquitos! There was a huge number of them and they kept on biting. We closed our room balcony, and somehow we still got one in. But the worst part was the yard, where they roamed free. I wonder if there is something that the hotel or local community can do to ... reduce their effect!
Ambelikos is a cute little, family-owned and operated agrohotel. It's not suitable for those looking for 5 star luxury, but if you're into agrotourism, relaxing in nature with a great view, or even using it as a base for hikes and tours around the wineries and local sights, it's an amazing experience! If you realize in advance that you will get an old (but clean) room, with antique beds and an incredibly friendly, small staff, you will not be disappointed. Twice the staff bailed us out with a quick reservation for dinner. What we had what the kitchen was able to make that day from their own provisions - this is the essence of the tourism experience they offer, and though the variety was not immense, the food was cooked to perfection and very tasty (comes with having fresh ingredients!). Overall, if you're into agrotourism, this is one to visit!
