Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. BulgariaAppliances are obsolete. We would recommend changing the air conditioning and the fan in one of the bedrooms, the fridge and other appliances in the kitchen. The shower should also be checked.
The apartment is close to public transport, a mall and the lighthouse beach. Even though it is in a building we felt a bit like in a house as there are three floors. It was spacious enough for 4 people. There are two balconies with a sea view. We also appreciated that there was food and water in the kitchen.

CroatiaThe apartment wasn’t clean when we arrived. The toilet was dirty (with visible stains), the toilet brush was unusable, and everything was generally dusty. There were three of us staying for five days, but we only got four large towels - no hand towels, no bath mat, nothing extra. There was no bedding for the sofa either, so I ended up sleeping with my beach towel and a stained white blanket. When we asked for an extra set of sheets, the host wanted to charge us 25 euros, which we found unreasonable. Most of our messages went unanswered, or we’d get a delayed reply the next day. On the second day, a real estate agent came by with people to show them the apartment for long-term rent - while we were still inside. Apparently the host told her we were arriving the next day, which was clearly not true. Breakfast was also included, but it definitely wasn’t enough for three people for five days. The host claimed that her cleaner leaves hand towels on the balcony drying rack. What we found were towels hanging next to a dirty cleaning cloth, and judging by the smell, stains and condition, they were clearly used for cleaning, not for guests. I’ve submitted a full complaint to Booking.com with all the photos and still haven’t received a proper response. Honestly, I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

RomaniaIt was with breakfast included, but the breakfast was just some food in the fridge...It was an awfull experience, not like a vacation should be. There was mold in the washing machine. Very low water presure. Only 3 or 4 towels. The bed and couch had stains. IT is not fair to rent this kind of "home" even for a low price. The owner really needs to step up and invest some money, even if it raises the prices after. I would have paid triple if it really had breakfast and at least every 2 days somebody come and clean and change the towels/bed sheets.

IrelandThe old frying pan has a loose handle and when i cracked and egg on the side it turned over spilling oil and egg on the cooker. The shower head bracket was broaken, wouldn't hold the head so one had to hold up yhe shower while washing with the other. The towel racks were hanging off the walls. Couldent use the TV and if one didn't have netfix on their phone then they had a problem...!

CroatiaVery comfortable and large apartment, close to the beach (200 m), close to the Archaeological Park and the town center (harbor) 15 minutes walk along the street or 20 minutes along the promenade by the sea. Promenade is 200 m from apartment Enough parking space, sufficient WIFI connection. The apartment is clean, the kitchen is well equipped. Thank you Leach for your hospitality
