How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI had a fantastic stay at Axiothea! Great location with beautiful sea view from both the rooms and the lobby/breakfast area. Very clean facilities and the rooms were super spacious and comfortable. Within walking distance to restaurants and bars, Paphos market, Kennedy square and a bus stop taking you to the main station. I’d especially like to highlight the staff which was super lovely and friendly and made me feel super welcome!
Even though it’s not directly by but above a Main Street, traffic can get quite noisy so if you’re a light sleeper earplugs might be a good idea.

Verified reviewThe Axiothea Hotel is very comfortable. My room had everything I needed. There is a generous buffet breakfast that caters to all tastes. The staff is friendly and helpful. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and I would stay here again.
There was nothing to dislike about the Axiothea Hotel.

Verified reviewThe best bits were the spectacular views, as the hotel is located upon a hill and most evenings you can watch the sunset (if your room has a sea view). Great photos to be taken! The staff are super friendly and very helpful, nothing is any trouble. It had an old school charm that's hard to beat and really welcoming. It's like spending time with family (you like). The location in Pathos has great restaurants, bars, shopping mall, gift shops etc. The bus stop is less than 5 minutes from the hotel, taking you to various areas in Pathos, including beaches. The breakfast is fantastic. Sets you up well for your day ahead. Prepared with love by a group of diligent women keeping the buffet breakfast constantly maintained with food. Rooms are cleaned every day and the hotel is very good value for money compared to others. Reception team are very helpful too. I'd highly recommend this place, all the sparkling reviews are true, don't miss out.
I did have a leak in my bathroom, but the owner dealt with it immediately. He called someone, who drove to the hotel in the evening to fix it! That's dedication. One thing to bare in mind if you have mobility issues, is there are a lot of steps from one side getting to the hotel as it is on a hill. However, there is a lift in the hotel.

Verified review, Location is good, nice view to the sea. Veraity of things in the breakfast. Very clean. Calm, nice staff.
important to notice- on Sunday all things are closed beside a few resturants, so staying next to the old city is not great. The hotel is a bit old fashioned

Verified reviewEveryone was very friendly, helpful and polite. Airy and clean hotel with a large lobby and restaurant. The room was very clean and comfortable. Located on a high point of the town with a beautiful view on the town and sea. Well located for the town centre but to reach the nearest beaches it is about a 30 min walk or a 15 min bus ride. Buses run about every 15 min.
It is a short but steep walk up to reach the hotel from the main road where all the buses run

Verified reviewI would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-organized holiday. Everything was spotlessly clean, and you can really tell that the owners put a lot of care and attention into every detail. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The facilities are excellent, everything is thoughtfully arranged to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Whether you're coming to rest, explore the area, or spend quality time with your family or friends, this is the perfect spot for your vacation. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay – it truly exceeded my expectations. I felt at home and appreciated every moment here. I will definitely be coming back, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit! Highly recommended – five stars from me!

Verified reviewConvenient location in the old town, very comfortable room and my favorite thing about this hotel was the breakfast, it has plenty of choices, including fruits, cereals, cheeses, sausages, eggs, vegetables, etc. While you eat you can enjoy a wonderful view and feel the gently morning breeze

Verified reviewVery nice small hotel in the old town. I stayed in a single room, it was spacious enough and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was also good. Free water refill was highly appreciated. Amazing value for money.
Every day same breakfast options can become a bit dull after few days.

Verified reviewThe hotel is located in the city center (near the old town), on a steep cliff with a stunning view of the lower part of the city and the sea. We had a room with a view of the park (no noise from cars). Breakfast was very good. The room was clean (silent air conditioning, refrigerator, hairdryer, ironing board, shower amenities, Wi-Fi, daily room cleaning, parking). Not only is the old town with its historical sights within walking distance, but also cafés and restaurants.
No any comments

Verified reviewBreakfast was decent, but for the price I paid I expected a little bit more. Rooms were a bit small but comfortable and clean. Location is perfect! There is a public parking just outside the hotel with trees that provide shade. Very important in summer!
It was overall a very nice stay. Nothing to complain about. Value for money wise, could be better. It was quite expensive for what they provide.
