Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The easy greeting 😀 The no nonsense approach by the owner Although we were left to enjoy the villa we could easily contact Yiannis if needed No issues with us leaving the villa a little late as we had to wait for transport

The villa was really nice and the host was extremely helpful and accommodating.

United KingdomThat we are told not to feed the cats (Not in a bad way) I get the sentiment but a mummy cat and 4 babies cannot be ignored! LOL I'm not sure why previous reviews have slated the crockery, why would you need matching plates? Every utensil you can think of and to be honest the plate I eat off and cup I drink from isn't going to make me put anything less than a 10!

GeorgiaCrockery in the kitchen could be of better quality.
Villa is right on the sea front, so we had stunning seafront views, every evening watching amazing sunsets from the terrace. Villa is very spacious, with beautiful design; outdoor living space is nice. Beach in front of the villa is rocky but is still possible to find the easy entrance to the water. We enjoyed snorkelling there, with plenty of fishes (including moray eel). Sandy beach is 10 minutes’ walk away. Pool was already a bit cold for us, anyway we preferred sea. Several nice restaurants, cafes and shops in a walking distance. If you do not have a car, the bus station is just 500 m away. Thanks to the villa’s location, it was easy to discover western part of Cyprus (Paphos and Kouklia Archaeological Sites, Akama National Park, wineries around Omodos, Olympos Mt.). The owner Yiannis is a wonderful host, always available, if you need help or assistance. Peaceful environment, even though there is a construction behind the villa, we rarely heard anything. We absolutely enjoyed our one week stay there, and we would love to come again.

United KingdomThe plates, cups, pans, in the kitchen could be of better quality. All a bit of a mish mesh. Though pool is clean it is a bit dated and needs a little renovation.
Yiannis is a wonderful host, always available. The property is right on the sea front, unobstructed views of the water, though note it is a rocky entrance to swim but it is stills swimmable there. Quite peaceful even though there is a construction behind the villa, we rarely heard anything. Close to shops and restaurants but you do need a car. True anywhere in Paphos except the main town. Villa is very spacious. Beds comfortable. Outdoor living space really nice. And of course a pool to swim in is always wonderful.

United KingdomThere is building work in progress on approach to the villa which proves a little dusty underfoot if you are walking out from the villa. Otherwise no issues. Once inside the villa you are mesmerised by the stunning seafront views. Heaven.
Location was perfect.

United KingdomThe beach within walking distance was very rough. We were all adult strong swimmers and we only went in once there during our stay. You will need a car. We wanted to explore so it wasn't a prior us and there is an excellent beach 10 mins drive away.
Yiannis is excellent. He waited to greet us even though our flight was late. Sorted any issues immediately and put essential supplies in so we had breakfast in the morning. The villa is perfectly laid out and spacious, and the outside areas are wonderful.

United KingdomOur family of 5 had a lovely week staying at this beautiful villa. The villa itself is clean, spacious and well equipped. As for location, you couldn’t ask for a better spot. So peaceful and yet plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Best of all is the stunning views, you are literally 20m from the sea which looks and sounds amazing, and when the sun sets it is breathtaking - we looked forward to our sundowners on the veranda every evening before going out to dine. Special mention to the owner Yiannis: really friendly, helpful and speaks great English. He will be in touch before you arrive, welcome you upon arrival, and lives close by so you are only one WhatsApp away from any help if needed or have a question. The villa is only 15 minutes from Paphos town which is well worth a visit, 5 minutes to the Coral beach, 10 minutes to the Adonis waterfalls, or 40 minutes to Laatchi Harbour where you hire a speed boat to the blue lagoon etc.

United KingdomProbably better to include the air conditioning in the listed price during the summer months rather than have to pay in addition to the booking price. Otherwise everything was perfect.

United KingdomFirst off, the location is absolutely brilliant. Who doesn’t like waking up to a beautiful sea view? Plus the villa is in an ideal location in the gorgeous area of Kissonerga which is between Paphos and Coral Bay. There are fantastic restaurants and bars in close proximity and bonus, it was just a stones throw to our favourite beach cafe and two of our favourite tavernas in the village. The Villa is gorgeous. All the rooms air light and airy and have great sea views and having three bathrooms and a guest bathroom means that nobody is left waiting. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for cooking meals on days when you just want to leave the serenity of the Villa. And with a Villa so gorgeous, there are times when all you want to do is stay home to soak up the beauty of the Mediterranean. Yiannis, the host was always just a call away and is the nicest guy you could ever meet. It was also great to know that we had friends in common and can say that he has joined the ranks of our Cypriot friends and I will definitely be going back to “MY” villa!

We loved everything about villa alkiona. The owner Yiannis was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We loved the spacious outdoor balcony with the table and chairs. We sat here and ate breakfast every morning and loved sitting here at night watching the sunset….absolutely stunning!

PolandThe location is just heavenly. Perfect for a walk before that morning cup of coffee, and even for a swim if you find that little hidden bay! Close enough to the city and very close to sandy beaches like Laourou or Coral Bay. All necessary equipment is there, including a washing machine, wine opener, pots, pans, etc. even anti-mosquito electric plugs. We stayed there in May so did not need AC - it’s also available. Kids enjoyed the pool, climbing the rocks, looking at lizards, and when exhausted- netflix. Hope to go back there soon! So don’t book all the dates please.

United KingdomInternet was temperamental and struggled to cope with multiple devices at the same time. A family with children playing games on ipads etc... would definitely find it challenging. Maybe if the router was mounted higher up on the wall instead of being on a low table it would help. We also needed the heating on an evening as the house did not retain heat easily during our stay in December. This was an extra charge we knew about at the time of booking but we hadn't realised how cold the property would feel at times. We would also have liked the washing machine instructions. It took us a while to figure out as the instructions proved impossible to find online.
Location by the sea and peacefulness as it is one of only two villas let by Yannis in that location. There are 2 other sets of 5 villas nearby, but these are not intrusive. The range of cooking equipment in the kitchen was excellent, but we could have done with a couple more chopping knives. We were provided with plenty of clean towels and the property was cleaned thoroughly half way through our stay as it was for more than a week - previously in similar properties we've just been left clean bedding and towels.

United KingdomA lovely villa with an absolutely stunning sea view, including magical sunsets. The villa was spacious, well equipped and clean, and the owner most helpful and accomodating. Although one could happily sunbathe daily by the pool, the location is perfect for day trips into Paphos, Latsi, Troodos, Akamas etc. Very close (10min drive) to all the water sport fun and beaches of Coral Bay and only 25min away from the airport. Plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomAs regular travelers and a family of 7 using booking.com i felt obligated to leave an honest review. This property is far from basic..... After arriving via a building site + driving down a dirt track down to the property, we were then greeted with a man demanding money for heating & hot water! So We handed over an extra €380 cash After already paying €2.475 for an 11 nights. The property was un comfortable, one small small stained, smelly sofa in the lounge area & a tiny none working TV. All bedrooms had one pillow per person, with damp, stained bedding with no quilt covers & covered in hairs. The main bathroom plug did not work, and the hose was broken. we tried another shower and the pressure was low and smelt of sewage. We do not come away to feel this uncomfortable & dirty! Our children were all upset and crying to go home! We requested to check out via booking.com the following morning, who were very professional and issued a refund - 1 night. Within 2 hours we had booked a far superior property 5 mins drive away & far cheaper with no hidden extra costs! Please do your research before booking this accommodation!
View of the sea is lovely.
