How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe accommodation is free of clutter but still homely and welcoming and clean! It was really helpful that beach towels were also provided. Comfortable beds! Swimming pool is clean and well maintained. Easy car parking. Lovely outdoor eating area with a sun awning. Helen who manages the property and lives on site is helpful and has lots of local knowledge. We would stay here again and recommend it to families.

Hi Andrew that’s a very unfair review, I spoke to you and refunded money in good faith, you left one day before you was due to leave, from the first day you was going to Ayia Napa visiting friends and by all accounts your preferred Ayia Napa to Larnaca, you told the taxi driver that the apartment was nice but you preferred Ayia Napa. We did not see you once at our complex. We work very hard to look after our guests and we are a top rated apartment, I feel your review is unfair and unjust. How could you rate the staff 2.5 when Helen came to your apartment every day and never saw you as you were in Ayia Napa. I wish you never booked to stay with us.

Verified reviewBeautiful 2 bedroom ground floor apartment, with a lovely terrace leading to garden and pool. Everything you would need is provided. Helen was very helpful and booked a hire car and then a taxi to airport.
Some roadworks near by made walk to bar/shop etc a bit difficult, but the works were due to be completed. If you have an issue with cats (we dont) Cyprus has a problem with stray cats.

Verified reviewGreat spot! right across the beach and the Le Bay hotel, which has been renovated and a nice spot to sit and have a drink or coffee. there's also a nice walk way along the beach that takes you to restaurants and cafes. Helen, the host is so great! she knows her work and is always willing to help her guests. my wife and i loved our unit as it was super clean and quiet. I highly recommend Kypkeys and Helen.

Verified reviewLovely little apartment. Garden is very nice and lovely to sit out in with a cup of tea in the mornings. Quiet area and close to some shops, restaurants etc. Lovesea and Mur Blue both nice places on the sea front. We have stayed twice, once in March and once in December, both good stays. Friendly and accommodating host. We felt a very good apartment for the price.

Verified reviewIt was exactly as described, with a fully equipped kitchen and apartment in very close proximity to the beach. Our hosts Helen and Steve took great care of us, arranging for food to be delivered, as we arrived when shops were closed over Christmas, a Hire Car delivered and even booking a local restaurant so we could celebrate New Year in style. Impeccable service

Verified reviewEverything met our expectations. The apartment was clean, tidy and spacious for 2 of us. The pool area is well maintained and clean - bonus for heated pool especially in the winter season. Helen was super helpful - great welcome and communication style throughout our time!
Not a complaint but slight suggestion to upgrade the bed mattress and repair the washing machine. Helen was great at finding solution for our laundry needs so we were not too bothered. But again, this is only a stretch - our overall stay was pleasant!

Verified reviewThe accommodation was great and suited the four of us perfectly. One of us used the sofa couch in the lounge and it was very comfortable. The pool was fabulous and was just the right temperature. The bus stop to Larnaca is close by and so is the seafront boardwalk.
Unfortunately there is a lot of roadworks in the general area but once it’s completed it’s going to be fantastic.

To get the shower going you need to hold a thingy for 20 seconds, it's not a big issue though. The shower was great

Verified reviewFantastic pool and facilities, set back from the main roads the apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable. Temperatures were in the high 30s most afternoons so being able to relax in comfort by the pool under an umbrella was brilliant and for the most part we effectively had the pool to ourselves! The air conditioning was also quiet and easy to control when we needed to cool down!
Arrived late and it took a while to locate our unit, a sign identifying the complex would have made finding it easier!
