Permanent resident/guest are noisy and not friendly and consider the place as if it's their house rather than a hostel to share with all quests with respect and consideration.

They need to put some hooks on the back of the bathroom door. There were a couple guys who coughed a lot staying there, but they were both heavy smokers. The doors to the rooms don't lock, and even the front door isn't really secure. There is no reception; the only representatives of the hostel that you ever see are the cleaning ladies.

It's right in the center, only about 6 minutes from where the intercity buses stop and start from. The hot water works fine, but you have to hit a button and wait for it to heat up, so no spontaneous showers. But this is better than the water temperature ranging from ice cold to scalding without much in between, which is how it is at NEX Hostel. The cleaning ladies are very nice, though they forgot to put toilet paper in the bathroom my first day there and forgot something else another day.

The host send a mail if there was something he could help with - try to reply but failed because was the link from booking.com. There was used bed sheets and used towels on the bed the owner wrote I should take. The owner seems to rent out this only for a money interest - he never show up only send mail - could not reply. The kitchen equipment are not in a good shape. The cleaning lady is definitely hard on her limit to do all the work - and didn’t know anything what to do - if I asked for help. The beds in the room are to narrow set up and only made for children if you want sit up from the lower bed. There is definitely personal note from the owner to see - I guess that’s why he is not personal present.

The location and the building are nice - everything you could do by walking. There is a big living room where you can relax.

The long term residence whose did not help maintaining the overall cleanliness of the place, they left soiled dish after cooking right inside the sink without washing, even just dirty plates right on the table didn’t even bother to clear. Dirty clothing and towels are laying around the common area, since there’s no staff actually staying or monitoring the place; it was rather out hand I would say. It could have been a better place to be.

The location and overall facilities, minutes away from Ledra checkpoint and intercity bus station. Quiet area and it’s a big apartment with 4 bunk beds fit into a room with spacious common space. Bed is clean and room condition is passable clean. Self check in process was quick and clear instructions given through messages was easy to follow. The only thing is the long terms residence and lack of staff presence.

There is no one that represents the hostel on site other than the Filipino cleaning ladies. They are very nice, but sometimes they rush their work and they sometimes forget to restock toilet paper. Of course, there is a reason why they forget this: there is a 28 year old alcoholic/drug using Cypriot with mental problems who has never worked in his life and who pays monthly that uses at least 3 rolls of toilet paper a day. What he does with it, I have no idea. I stayed there a month myself, so I know his way of "living." He also closes the door loadly every time he goes to the bathroom at night, and he goes several times because he coughs up stuff all day and night, most likely due to heavy smoking. So if the cleaning ladies forget to restock the toilet paper, it must be because they just put 4 rolls there the day before and can't imagine that that is not enough for 2 days. The druggy also sets the heater at 30 degrees Celsius (87 Fahrenheit). He wants to be able to sleep without a blanket and wants to be able to sit and watch tv in shorts even during the winter. This makes the hostel uncomfortably hot. The hostel has all private rooms except for one room that has 2 bunk beds. That room is too small for those 2 bunk beds, so the room is cramped. But the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and dining area are all fine.

The apartment was not well maintained and the floor was dirty. The balcony was quite dangerous with only about a 1 m high fence.

Great location and price. Not a classical hostel but actually an apartment building. The apartment I was staying in had a big living room with a kitchen, a bathroom and two smaller rooms with bunk beds crammed in (no per-bed curtains, shelves or lamps).

No hostel rules and no control of behaviour: Long-term staying workers want to live like in their own home (press to rule the place: always curtain down and dark light, cold common room, smoking, always very noisy using mobile for extensive internet use without headphone, spreading their stuff all around, expressing their frustration of life instead of exchanging the impressions of the beauty of Cyprus as tourists do). Main door code always open, rotten smelling food in fridge (no labelling), squeaking door of the sleeping room. Ill person in tiny sleeping room for four people who refuses to take a COVID-19 test; thus other hostel guests become ill, including myself. No lockers, no hot shower water when there is no sunshine. Thus, very bad unpleasant atmosphere in a basically nice appartment.

My flight arrived late, and there was no attendant at the property. I was only able to get in because there was another guest of the hostel on the second floor’s balcony, who came downstairs with a friend and got in touch with the owner. I could easily have had to spend the night on the street.

The hostel was overall clean, and the location convenient. I liked the functional air conditioning unit in the room, and the spacious bathroom with a bath tub and a shower. It was nice to have large French windows opening into a balcony.
