How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location, just at the harbour and the peomenade, easy with kids to go out and not fear about traffic or getting lost. Quick at the various sand beaches, good food options, a supermarket just around the corner.
Kitchen could have more cutlery, glasses and plates. If uou didn't manage to clean the dishes right away, it was getting tight. Basic herbs plus salt and pepper would be nice.

Bugs (cockroaches) a lot, you have to fix them. Air conditioners above beds, cannot be run during night as directly blowing cold air to face. We were sick from it. Without a/c there was 30+ degrees in the morning. At least some shields you can add there to blow to side
We regret having to read these comments but some of these come from sheer ignorance. If there were indeed bugs why was this not reported immediately to the manager (Elena). She would have sent technical staff around immediately during the day when the guests were out of the flat. At such a time the apartment would have been sprayed and the bugs would have been dealt with. N.B. Nobody else in the apartments had problems with bugs at this time. Then the comments about the air-conditioners are absolutely absurd. Why did these guests not ask the manager to send the technicians round in order to show these guests how air-conditioners work. The temperature can be controlled, the air flow can be controlled and the angle of flow can also be controlled. Such comments and ignorance cannot be accepted . The so called complaint could have been resolved by the technicians in a matter of minutes.

Verified reviewLocation is great - right next to Paphos main promenade. Amazing view from the balcony. Apartment is spacious. We really appreciated washing machine and two AC (we were staying there in July). Cleaning was spotless, but not available every day.
It gets quite loud in the evenings. Soundproof is not that good, especially when every evening a party boat with loud music arrives to the harbor. There were lots of ants in the apartment, even though we were really careful about storing food. Kitchen could be better equipped - only one pot and one very used pan for cooking. All in all, apartment needs renovation, especially bathroom.
There is very little we can agree about in this review. We make it very clear that the flats are cleaned five times a week and that there is a change of towels and bed linen twice a week. Our double glazed sound proofing is extremely good but of course it will not block out the siren on the ship once a day. Nobody else has complained about ants for a very long time. It is clear that food was left out, especially at night, otherwise there would not be any ants. Our kitchens are very fully equipped (see below). Fully equipped kitchens with granite worktops, microwave ovens, quadruple hob with extractor fan, washing machines, separate tumble dryers as well as a large fridge/freezer and a big electric cooker, double stainless sink, iron and ironing board, electric kettle and toaster. If extra pots and pans were required why did these guests not tell the manager (Elena) immediately and the excellent cleaning ladies would have provided whatever was required in a matter of minutes. This apartment does not require renovation and the fully equipped bathroom is loaded with top of the range German and Italian products. This is considered to be a four star hotel type bathroom. For their next holiday we very much hope that these guests will find somewhere else to stay.

Verified reviewGreat location right on the promenade with an amazing sea view from the apartment. The terrace with sun loungers was perfect for relaxing. The apartment was clean and had everything needed for cooking, including coffee-making essentials. Despite being central, it wasn’t too noisy during the week, though weekends can be louder due to nearby bars. Overall, a great spot for a peaceful and comfortable stay.
Some things could be better: towels weren’t changed during our 4-night stay, check-in is late (2 p.m.), and the apartment could use basic welcome items like water or coffee. Beds were uncomfortable, and each guest only had one small pillow.
Unfortunately there is much that we cannot agree with. Our apartments are cleaned five times a week, the sheets and towels are changed twice a week. Our check-in is not late and2 pm is absolutely usual at any hotel. If the beds were deemed to be uncomfortable then soft mattress toppers could have been fitted at once. All one has to do is to inform the management and the cleaning ladies would fit soft mattress toppers within a matter of minutes. The same goes for pillows. If more pillows are required then the manager will ask the cleaning ladies to deliver as many pillows as are required.

Verified reviewAn amazing location with parking around the building which is enclosed within property. We stayed in a 2 bedroom (212) which was comfortable with super ac in throughout, simple kitchen with cooking utensils, crockery, glasses and pans. It was simply furnished - with non-smart tv but did have some English tv channels, and the living furniture was simple probably not the comfiest but was fine as we didn't spend much time there. Beds were great (single beds), blankets, and extra pillows provided which made them comfortable. The balcony was great - shade in the afternoon with sun beds and table and chairs available. There was a washing machine, dryer available but didn't use the latter. Shower was great. Supermarket just behind and so many choices for restaurants and able to walk along front to choice of sunbeds and also to entrance to the archaeological entrance. Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Paphos. Also, housekeeping came into to clean and offered new towels and made beds.
Perhaps a drying rack could be offered?
We appreciate the score and most of the comments. These apartments are very fully equipped. If the guest requires a drying rack you just ask the manager and the cleaning ladies will bring a drying rack within a matter of minutes. There is also tumble dryer in our extremely fully equipped kitchen. There are many English #TV channels on offer. The cleaning ladies clean the flats five times a week and change the sheets and towels twice a week. Since this apartment has a side sea view the prices are very reasonable. According to travel agents they are far too low. For this reason we simply cannot agree with the comments about value for money.

Some basics like shampoo and paper towels have been helpful, and the cleaners threw away all of our napkins

Verified reviewLocation is excellent, directly overlooking the sea. We had a first floor seaview (we recommend this option) apartment shops/restaurants are on the ground level but no noise problems. Second floor view would be even better but our view was still great. Free car parking very close to the apartment, first come first served but we always found a space. Apartment was very clean and cleaning lady was lovely. Kitchen is well equipped and there is a good supermarket two minutes walk away. We plan to return.

Yet again we very much appreciate these positive comments and scores. We do our very best. We are not perfect but we must be doing something right!!

No staff on duty at the weekend. Far too many stairs , not at all suitable for invalids . Promised a supermarket on site , but it was closed ( that’s the reason I booked there , would have appreciated being told that when I booked ,had to take a bus trip for groceries and as I’m disabled couldn’t carry much back , consequently had to eat out very Much more than I budgeted for. No one available to carry bags up or down several flights of stairs .No lift ! Difficult .
We simply cannot agree with these comments. This guest was a serious invalid and we are not to blame for that. Paphinia did its very best for these people. These comments should be completely ignored.
