How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe loved the location, the village atmosphere and access to the pool. The owner greeted us on arrival which was very nice. The rooms were large and we had all that was needed.
The top bedroom was a bit hot due to the high temperature, the owner provided with a fan with cool water to assist with the heat.

The balcony could be cleaned and the plants taken care. There was a cat visitor insisting in sleeping in the balcony chair and have one of the vases as toilet 🫣

They gave us a room that I wasn't even in the photos! There was no TV, no boiler for hot water, no shaker for iced coffee, no AC in the living room, no double or king size bed (they gave us 2 single beds connected), and the pool was a 2-3 minute walk from the room!

We strive to ensure that these images accurately reflect the rooms available. TV: We do clearly state that our rooms do not include a TV, as we aim to provide a more tranquil, tech-free environment for our guests to relax and unwind. Ice Shaker: While we provide other amenities for comfort, an ice shaker is not a common feature in most accommodations, and it's not something we include in our rooms. If youd like to make cocktails, best to bring your own next time! Hot Water: The hot water typically takes around 30 seconds to start running, as is common in many accommodations. Beds: The beds provided are double beds with a topper, a standard setup in many hotels to offer flexibility and comfort. Pool: Our pool is a shared facility within the village, as stated in our description. While it may be a 2-3 minute walk from your room, We really do not think this is invonvenent and 300 meters is not much of a distance... Verified reviewThe place was so nice, clean and organised. Traditional and well preserved with special details and decorations. Loved the private front veranta! Mrs Marisa was helpful, on call for whatever we needed and very kind. First time on the village, nice location and quiet neighbourhood, great tavern '' Retro''near by. Definitely coming back!

Verified reviewThe house is traditional, with wooden furniture and wooden floors, excellent! It's unique, the atmosphere is amazing! As we were alone there, we relaxed in the cosy yard (especially our dog enjoyed it!) in the mornings & evenings.

Verified reviewthe village is very quiet and a convenient distance (you will need a car) from the coast and main cities in Cyprus. the apartment we got was quiet and cosy. very nice the internal gardner.
unfortunately we were assigned to an apartment far from the group of apartments served by the swimming pool and at the end we didn't use it. cleanliness was ok and it is understandably not easy to keep an old house with garden free from humidity and small bugs, but some more care in preparing the apartment could be envisaged.

Verified reviewGreat little village - lovely people, a private-ish shared swimming pool (we were alone there the few times we used it), super helpful staff in the mini-markets and tavernas, and a great base to explore nearby cities and areas including Larnaca, Lefkara, Troodos, Nicosia and Paphos (with a car!). Zygi, Kuklia and Governor's Beach are also worth stopping by for... I would have liked to add more photos of the actual village, but the site only lets you add one photo to each area, so I gave you the shared pool and outside of the 2-floor appt.
We loved where we stayed, but a few of the facilities were suspect - the TV reception didn't work (and couldn't be fixed, apparently), the kettle was replaced, and the shower was a bit of a lottery unless you ran it for 5+ minutes first. To be fair we only used it as a base to see other parts of Cyprus so weren't too bothered, but the holiday rep (Marisa) couldn't have done more to help and we're confident she would have resolved any issues if we'd asked - she brought a new kettle the following morning, for example...
