How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewProperty is in excellent location, close to a beach and natural rocky sea swimming areas, good size for family of 5. Kitchen had everything you could need, beds good size and comfortable, aircon worked well. Layout perfect for families. Communication with villa company was good and had lovely stay
only niggle is there could have been some basic cleaning stuff like dish clothes or cleaning spray.

Verified reviewThe property is in a great location, secure gated access with fantastic sea views at the rear. It’s in a peaceful convenient location with a local shop only 5mins walk away. There is a bus stop 5 mins away to take you to Protaras or Ayia Napa. The beach path leads all the way into Protaras or the Cyclops caves. There are fantastic snorkelling spots literally a stones throw away.
I felt the property was in need of some modernisation and decoration in places, particularly the bathrooms as they all looked a bit tired and would suggest re-grouting of the tiles and general redecoration. The showers were very weak. There were a couple of maintenance issues when we arrived for example corroded parasol stand and damaged pool side grills that were missing and damaged. These were reported and rectified swiftly but felt this should have been addressed prior to our arrival. Another disappointment on arrival was the welcome basket, it only consisted of a couple of tea, coffee, sugar sachets, a small bottle of water and carton of juice, for a family of 5 that arrived at midnight and considering the cost to stay here, I felt this could be greatly improved. Another suggestion would be to supply a bag of coal and ensure the barbecue was working as we couldn’t use this.

Verified reviewLovely villa in a beautiful location, quiet and spacious. Located near a few tavernas and shops within walking distance and on a bus route to central Protaras and Ayia Napa.
Fault with the air con in one of the bedrooms took 5 days to resolve, hampered by the management company not informing the owner in a timely manner leading to delays getting the unit replaced and the bedroom being unusable. Swimming pool had an unsightly green algae stain around the water edge, I did raise this and pool maintenance attended. Stain remained but improved. No compensation offered for inconvenience of the lack of a bedroom and my adult daughter having to sleep in the living room for 5 night.

Verified reviewWe liked the quiet neighbourhood, location (close beach and restaurants) and nature, swimming pool was very practical. House has everything needed for a stay, it is very well equipped. Staff is very friendly, kind and helpful.
The checkin procedure could have been a bit more precise - after entering through the main gate, it wasn't clear where the house is exactly located, we had to look for it for a few minutes.

it was cold. the wall units did not heat the villa adequately even if we had them on all evening. we had a separate heater brought in but they stopped working after 1 night. because it was so cold the shower room never dried out. also the BBQ was rusted and unusable. general TLC needed.
