How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe place was wonderful, it has a beautiful front yard with a peaceful garden filled with fruit trees that is right next to the river which you can hear when you’re there, making for a great relaxing time. The studio on the first floor that I was staying has a very traditional Cypriot theme to it which was cool to experience. It had everything you’d need, fully equipped and spacious. It was very quiet when I was staying there. The location is just perfect, very close to the supermarket and also the beautiful walking tracks that lead you to the top of the village and towards the mountains. The owner lady and her partner were incredibly friendly!

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved this place and would love to come back. Our room had a fireplace, and even though we paid extra for the firewood, the joy of lighting it was worth 100 times more. Waking up to the mountain view was amazing — such a peaceful and beautiful moment.
It was hard to get the shower water temperature right, but since the weather was warm, it wasn’t a big problem. Also, we couldn’t find any tea in the house or in the village — everything was closed for Easter.

Verified reviewVery kind host. Everything we needed was provided and if something was missing they would respond very quickly. Complimentary bottle of village wine was waiting for us on the table and the room was tidy and clean. Fireplace was beautiful with all the tools needed for us to cook directly on it. BBQ basics were provided. Water for the shower was always hot. As quiet as it gets. Haven't enjoyed sleep like this in a long while.
I would appriciate if the wood for the fireplace was included in the price and not paid after the booking. We shouldnt be forced to pay 10 euro for a small box of wood lasting one night. Not a big deal but would be appriciated as other more affordable stays provided the wood for free. Bathroom was a bit cramped as they decided to fit a small jacuzi in it and not much room to sit on the toilet. Spacious shower would have been way more appriciated.

Verified reviewThe ambiance was amazing, nice fireplace and they provide the wood at an additional price. the owner was very cute and made sure we have everything. There is a great spot to sit outside and chat. Also the bed was great.
The jacuzzi was small, me and my partner like to bath together and there wasn't enough space.

Verified reviewFruit on table, got the extra sheet I asked for, cold water in fridge and coffee and coffee mixer available.
Was difficult to find, had to find small signs on the road instead of using our google maps. We contacted the host when we arrived, she was difficult to understand. Told us she would get there in 5 minutes, was nowhere to be found. We wanted to lay down after our trip, had to wait for her. The door is difficult to open/close/lock, didn't feel secure. No view at the mountain, as advertised. No table outside either, as shown in photos. The bathroom was really bad, toilet was squished in corner between jacuzzi and wall, could not use it comfortably, had to hold it in for 2 days. Also, bathroom sink is tiny, and hands fit barely to get washed. Bathroom window does not have a net, to protect from insects etc. so that we can leave it open to air out bathroom, not romantic at all. In terms of sleeping, pillows were tiny and really low, mattress was too firm and our heads ended up in weird angle and couldn't sleep, no extra pillows in wardrobe. Curtain and bed cover had cigarette burn holes and wall next to bed was dirty and had dead spider dangling. Blanket had hair from previous person. In terms of amenities, hand soaps were tiny, dish sponge dirty and no paper towel for our hands in kitchen, or even a kitchen towel. Toilet paper was bad quality and too thin, had 2 rolls available. Biggest issue was that we couldn't sleep, at night there was lots of light from kitchen window, straight opposite from bed, so no privacy either, curtains were almost transparent. No dark curtains or way to keep the light out. When the sun came up, around 6 am, whole room was lit, couldn't sleep. I didn't use the jacuzzi, so no idea about that. Air condition was noisy and old, took sometime to work properly. Needs a new one.
