Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Everything was good.
A very comfortable hotel just off the main square with an excellent restaurant. We stayed 5 nights. We had a "superior" room on the first floor. The room was large with two good sized windows facing the street, while just off the main square and a tram line in front noise was not a problem at all. The nights were very quiet and rooms well insulated against noise from other rooms. The staff was excellent and the receptionist (I neglected to get her name unfortunately) went out of her way to assist me in arranging some train travel. Would stay here again, highly recommended.

Nice older style hotel just off the main square. Almost in the centre of town & an easy 15 minute walk to the train station. Medium size room with a comfortable bed. Quite a good breakfast

The man at breakfast was ignorant and needs to either change jobs or have hospitality training. He is the only reason why i could not rate a 10.
Room very spacious. Comfy bed and pillow. Clean. Great location. Excellent value for money. Most staff welcoming and friendly. Definitely return here.

Other reviews and the hotel's responses to criticism match my experience: The bathroom smell, the staff person who handled my check-in and "the boss" via telephone were unpleasant. And the booked room's photos did not correspond to the room they gave me.
Perfect location to experience Cheb. Nice breakfast area, bright and beautiful, and good food, with tasty, healthy and well prepared options. Good breakfast hours. Room was spacious, silent and comfortable at night. Some people on the staff were nice. Also, they let me check-in early. Perfect location to experience Cheb.

It seems there before has been a restaurant in the hotel - now there is only a bar. But the staff can inform you about the nearest restaurants.
Hotel Barbarossa is situated exactly in the center of Cheb/Eger, just next to the big Square in the city-center. The Tourist-inforation is just around the corner.The room was OK, the staff were welcomming and helpfull and the breakfast was fine.

Some aspects of the room were a little tired and needed updating, especially the towels!
Good location near Chen’s historic centre, with a great (and very popular) local restaurant around the corner. Helpful staff. Reasonably good breakfast buffet.

The reception is a joke. I got a wrong invoice and they refused to correct it. The rooms and smelly, WiFi does not work. Braekfast is not good. The service is just a pain.

There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. There was no fridge in the room. There was no fan or aircon in the room so the window needed to be fully open to cool the room down.
It was beautifully fitted out. It was central to the old town square.

As a light sleeper I was woken up early in the morning by the cleaners. Not their fault! It’s just the way the building is constructed - you can hear the vacuum cleaner being dragged in the hallways etc. I was very jet lagged so had trouble sleeping- so Most people may not be bothered by this. I found a solution to blocking out the sound by playing soft rains sounds on my cell phone which helped with my jet lag too. I wish the room had air conditioning but with the window open a beautiful breeze would come in thru the night and really helped cool the room down.
I love the location, the lovely staff - they were so friendly and helpful! I loved my room and the beautiful view of the street- it was like a fairytale view! I am looking forward to returning when i visit my family next year again in Cheb.
