How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe front desk staff was wonderful! The few glitches like the missing remote, the hairdryer, & the fan request, were attended to immediately and cheerfully. We would definitely come back. Cleanliness and a top-notch staff are the most important qualifications.
At check-in our tv remote was missing. The air conditioning did not make the room comfortable. We had to open the skylights& request a fan. The hairdryer did not work either. The room was dark & windowless on our 5th floor, so daytime the light was ok, but at night the room was dark. I like to sleep with a top sheet & we just had a duvet; I prefer to have wash cloths also.

Number od small or relatively small things: the TV did not work properly, the remote did not work properly, the bathroom mirror was broken. The 30 minutes of dog barking from the next room (premium level room) in the morning

Verified reviewI stayed here with my Mum on a trip from London, and we had a wonderful stay. *Location* This hotel is in a perfect location, in the centre of the beautiful old town of Brno. Grand squares, bars, al fresco restaurants and quaint little cafes all within throwing distance. The hotel backs onto both the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul (absolutely stunning), and the historic Denis Gardens, which we discovered a public opera performance on Saturday night, overlooking the lights of the city. The Vegetable Market and town hall are just up a few cobbled streets. Anyone who says the location is disappointing must have been walking around with their eyes closed – we found it utterly magical. *Staff* The staff were incredible. Very warm, welcoming, and nothing was too much bother. They made us feel really welcome and at home there. The reception team were really helpful and lovely, and the waiters were really chatty and friendly. Room cleaned beautifully every day. *Room* Our room overlooked Denis Gardens, and we had huge windows (double glazed, so very quiet). The beds were so soft, it was like sleeping on air, and the shower was really powerful. The room had everything we needed (mini bar, safe, dressing gowns and slippers, ironing board, steamer). *Breakfast* Breakfast was lovely, the breakfast room is a really nice, cosy environment (contrasted with the grandeur of the hotel), and served freshly baked pastries (I loved the custard and apple ones), hot breakfasts (like sausages, egg etc to suit the brits!), cold meats and cheeses, pancakes and waffles. Huge range, but the breakfast room was really calm and relaxed.
These weren't biggies, but a few minor suggestions: * Having a pianist performing in the morning, during breakfast, is a little much, as the hall is so grand and echoey. Maybe something quieter in the mornig? * The TV only had the news in English, which is very depressing! Any chance you could include a film or entertainment channel too? Otherwise all perfect!

Verified reviewThe hotel lobby was fantastic and the building’s architecture was stunning. Valet parking and the morning car delivery worked perfectly. The rooms were nice and comfortable. Breakfast was rich and tasty, with salmon included, and we also appreciated the welcome drink upon arrival.

The shower head support was loosened (easy to tighten with a screwdriver), the soap dispenser support was loosened or broke (when you pressed to get soap it’s went down with the support—> Annoying). You cant notice this if you don’t use the soap. We stayed in room 405. Thank you!

Parking a bit expensive
Dear Mr Werner, Thank you very much for your wonderfull review and high score we have got from you. Its pleased to read that you enjoyed our buildinng from XIX century and rich buffet breakfast. Due to the central location and rules about the parking in the city center we can’t provide free parking for our guest, but we offer two options: valet parking when the car is parked by our porter in the nearby rented garage or parking in front or on the side of the hotel in one of the places we rent from the Brno City Municipality Both options have the same fee 35 eur per night and are safe and secure with CCTV in place during all your stay.
