How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewEverything! It was magical, we really enjoyed our stay. Jamal took great care of us. We had nice walks in the gardens. We loved the art. And we got engaged by the lake 😊 will be coming back!
The chef was on leave sadly. Hope we can have dinner next time 😊

Verified reviewThis hotel has nutrias. Actual live nutrias roaming around the hotel gardens not having a care in the world. The chateau and it's surroundings are enchanting. It feels like an intersection between the past and the future, as if multiple dimensions collided and created the place. Do not hesitate to book.

Verified reviewWe spent one night here in the Gothic room. The château is full of treasures to discover – art so exquisitely curated that every corner holds a surprise. The garden is a dream: vast, mysterious, and made for wandering. Dinner by the chef was an absolute highlight – with thoughtfully selected ingredients, each dish outstanding on its own, yet together forming a perfectly balanced menu. This is a place of beauty and soul, brought to life by the wonderful people who run it – and it leaves you truly happy.
This is a historic château lovingly restored through private passion. It’s not the standard comfort of a chain hotel – and that’s exactly what makes it so charming.

Verified reviewThe amazing historical property. Also, Jamal was very attentive and we were upgraded to a bigger room without asking. The surroundings of the castle are so photogenic and full of secrets to discover, dream job for the gardener!
Some of the artwork was a little invasive and threatening, clashing with the relaxed atmosphere. A bit more subtlety in this aspect would be appreciated.

Verified reviewThere are no other place like that! A chateau transformed into an art gallery, a peaceful place for the mind, a place to restore your mind and body, to admire the beauty of nature and architecture and with a very distinctive "charisma". The staff and the owners were also incredible

Verified reviewThe room was spacious and beautifully and interestingly decorated. The evening meal was exquisite, superb. The gardens and art installations are truly wonderful. The interior details are so thoughtful and touching. The library. :)
I was surprised that the breakfast wasn't included in the price that I accepted on Booking.com. I don't recall seeing anything to indicate whether breakfast was or was not included. I should have checked the details.

Verified reviewVery special - the chateau, the gardens, the barns, the art, the overall ambience. The loveliest mix of old, new and unusual. I especially loved how the interiors reflect the owners’ beautiful, eclectic vision.

Verified reviewThe château is a destination by its own. Definitely worth spending some time exploring. The owner and staff of the château were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The estate itself is rich in history, with a beautiful garden and a tasteful combination of historical and contemporary art throughout the estate. The library has an impressive collection as well. A perfect place for relaxation or a longer stay if you're seeking inspiration. If you're driving, it's very convenient to reach. Just about a 10-minute drive from Kutná Hora.
Nothing to complain about

Verified reviewAmazing location and vibe. Fantastic what the owners managed to do compared to how the building looked before. Now hire a hotel manager and make the stay incredible.
Owners should focus more on basic hotel experience than on having modern art in every possible corner. Most importantly - beds, pillows. Inform your guests more about unusual processes (eg. order breakfast through a paper form). Do not give options you cannot fulfill with skeleton staff (eg. breakfast can be ordered to be delivered to the room but it wasn't). Start with having the basics sorted, art is just the cherry on top.

Verified reviewThe building, the garden and the dinner. Staff was very helpful and kind.
Furniture was too shabby probably intentionally but give an impression of dirty textiles of seats. Also advise to fit a handrail for the bath as egde is barely visible and may cause accidents.

Verified reviewOverall place is least to say amazing. We had the oldest room which kept the vibe in the right place. Garden is the chillest place on earth. Accompaniment by modern art instalations and paintings are a great bridge between its historical walls and a modern soul.
Can’t think of anything tbh
