Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe Spa area is rather small and not up to the hype for sure. Parking is extra paid and should be in room rate. Although some staff were great, others are not so great at all, the reception in the Casino side of the hotel when we arrived was not great, looking like they were giving us a favor of welcoming us. The price of this hotel for Karlovy Vary is rather high and having stayed in other five-star hotel nearby I have to say I was expecting further differentiation.
Is a very nice looking traditional hotel with big rooms. The breakfast is very good. Their restaurant Steak and Bone (outside the hotel but very close) is very good for steaks. The quality of some staff was outstanding.

United StatesShould be giving everyday water not just the day you arrive. I was surprised because we pay everyday like it is a new day. It is a water. The only thing we were not aware is that the Quisisana location is across the river. So we had to go through outside to the main building.
Amazing everything. The breakfast is extraordinary with the dinning room. See you next year.

BahrainEverything was great except that I didn't like that I was given the smallest room in the premier king revier view. When I asked to change i was given a bigger room but with park view. When i requested to go back to my older room, it was occupied! So I did'nt get my 100% expectation when I decised on this hotel.

SwitzerlandThe spa included in room rate was nothing special, quite small especially for a spa town.
The breakfast was absolutely exceptional in a stunning dining hall, excellent choices. Staff was extremely helpful in all aspects. Location is 10/10, parking at an extra fee is also well managed.

LuxembourgWhile the overall experience was excellent, the room could have been a little better soundproofed, as some noise was noticeable.
The hotel is absolutely stunning, with elegant historic architecture and beautifully decorated interiors. The spa facilities were excellent, and the breakfast was varied and delicious. The staff were professional, welcoming, and always helpful. The location is perfect for exploring Karlovy Vary, right by the river.

RomaniaIt is not clearly stated that the hotel has 2 separate buildings. One which is Quissisana Residence and is across a bridge from the main building which is also pretty large and has 2 different areas. I am only mentioning this because I was travelling with a person with limited mobility and found out when checking in that we had to navigate stairs and a bridge every day back and forth to get to breakfast and spa area. Eventually I had to pay extra to get a room in the main building. It's great that the rooms are very clean, but it's a bit strange that housekeeping comes at every hour of the day. 8:30 in the morning, 14:00 afternoon and they don't check if you are in the room or the sign "do not disturb" is ok, they still knock and come in to check if you need anything. I found it disturbing.
Staying in a hotel with such history was a great experience. It has a lot of facilities and rooms are very large and comfortable. Location is great in the old center of town with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The pool area is also very nice as well as the relaxation terrace. Breakfast is good but a bit basic and not changing from day to day.

IrelandWe were let down by the reception staff. They were cold and distant at all times. This is not the kind of hotel where the staff will do *anything* to enhance your stay. In fact, they seem to not want any kind of interaction with the guests. We asked for an iron on our first morning and we were told they would only be available in the evening. That evening, we were told there were no irons available at all. This remained the case for three nights. Honestly this is just not acceptable for a 5* hotel. I couldn’t wear the clothes I had planned for dinner, etc. The corridor between Parkside and Riverside is unacceptably bare. Riverside is so ornate, grand and marvellous. Parkside is fine. The passage between the two areas, however, is like the staff corridor of an airport or bus station. The atmosphere in the Grand Restaurant is stuffy and a little dead. Overall, the value for money was excellent and we will return.
We stayed in the Parkside, I hope to provide an honest insight into this section of the hotel for prospective travellers. Firstly, the hotel is stunning; located at the end of the beautiful and upmarket promenade in Karlovy Vary. The vibes are formal and we felt privileged to be staying in such a special environment. The check-in area for Parkside is in a separate area. Although very nice, it is less glamorous than Riverside and not as ornate. Our room was beautiful - we had a studio and it was large, very nicely furnished with a comfortable bed and large en-suite. We had a view of the forest/hills behind the hotel. The spa is outstanding. So relaxing with a pool, many loungers, an array of relaxing/massage baths and sauna/steam room area. It was never busy during our three night stay. The Pupp Cafe was nice and the staff friendly. The Grand Restaurant was extremely formal - be aware that other guests will look you up and down as you enter. Dress accordingly. The food here was nice and the service excellent.

SwitzerlandThe associated spa baths of the pool area need to be manually activated or activated more often - minor quibble
Superb location, friendly staff, fantastic facilities, excellent restaurants, cafés and bars. One of the best back massages I have ever had. One hint - if you want to take advantage of the Spa facilities, book the Riverside rooms, the Parkside rooms are further away
