How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery nice place suitable for longer stay as well. Very easy to find, I really liked private parking, city center is 10 mnts walking distance. Owner speaks enough english for providing all information needed. The entire style of hotel is a bit vintage, but very clean and confortable. Breakfast exceeded my expectation, portions are ful and tasty. Room is equipped with TV and fridge. The entire atmosphere makes you feel very welcome and pleasant.
No air condition in the room, but for our staying fan was good enough. Everything just perfect.

Verified reviewBig room with a balcony with river view, comfortable bed. The host is very friendly and helpful. Huge tasty breakfast and secure parking off street. There's plenty of bars and restaurants within a 10 min walk. Walking along the river in the evening was enjoyable.
I got caught out by the 17:00 check-in as I arrived two hours early by chance.

Verified reviewNext to Vltava river, within walking distance to town square. The breakfast served by owner was also good and generous. It has a private parking space.
The rooms were old, and the beds were not comfortable.

Verified reviewNice big old style room with balcony and view over river. A reasonable walk to Old Town area, but not too bad. Good safe free parking.
Not much close, supermarket about 400 to 500 m away, but not much else. Old Town about 800m to 1km away but nice walk if weather good.

Verified reviewThe property is within easy walking distance of the town square, a particularly pleasant walk mainly along the river. The room was spacious and very clean, with lots of windows and a river view. The manageress is friendly and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. Parking is off street and very secure.
Our room was up quite a lot of stairs, though there are rooms on a lower floor. Be aware that check in is after 5pm, until then the building is locked.

Verified reviewHotel Lux is a pension with about 6 rooms I think. Mine was very comfortable with good facilities and nicely furnished and decorated in an older style. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The restaurant wasn't open the nights I was there. The woman who hosts is extremely friendly, nice and helpful. Her English isn't completely fluent but she knows enough to be able to do the job (and her English is far better than my non-existent Czech). The parking is off road and very secure. It's a nice location, about 10-15 minutes walk alongside the Vrltava to the historical part of CB where there are plenty of restaurants.
There are stairs to the rooms which some people might not like, especially if they are on the top floor. I suppose coffee and tea making in the room would be nice - there was a small refrigerator in my room.

Verified reviewClean, big room, distance from the event attended.
Hard bed - in the morning, hip and back pain. Room was at the highest floor, hard to reach for me (moving issues) - no lift available. Limited breakfast, no lemon for tea, one dish - therefore coffee or tea, no chance for both drinks. Coffee served from vacuum flask had nothing common to the coffee other than the colour. Breakfast on the day of departure served with a 20-minute delay and the staff's reply to the complaints "if you wait, you'll see". Scrambled eggs from single egg with onion - an unpalatable combination is an understatement. There was no question if this version suits me. I was only asked if I need a sausage (one?) or scrambled egg. The hotel was not cheap, although the price was competitive with others, but hardly overrated. Although the official currency is Czech Crowns, the hotel uses Euros, converting amounts from Euros to Crowns at a very unfavorable exchange rate.

Verified reviewNice hotel, 15 minutes walking to the historical center. Private parking available.
We asked to leave our car at the parking for another 1,5 hour after checking out just to have some additional time in the city before leaving ut. But we were refused, even though the parking space was absolutely empty

Verified reviewThe location in a small city was nice, away from the busiest areas, but within walking distance to food and shopping. The old city center is less than 2km away and is a pleasant walk. Parking was easy and safe. Breakfast was quite nice. The room was spacious and comfortable.
This is an old hotel with no elevator. My room was on the 5th floor, and was very difficult to reach with my luggage and old legs. I should have asked for a lower level room, but I thought she said "first" floor, when she actually said "fifth" floor. I did not realize this till I started climbing the stairs. Be aware of your limitations when booking a room. I may have been the only guest, so a lower level room would have been nice.
