How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe room was very clean. Bathrobes, shampoo and conditioner set and a hair dryer are provided in the room. I liked the mattress (on a harder side). Finnish sauna was amazingly hot. Fresh towels and sauna blankets were provided in the wellness area. Location in the center of the town is nice, you can reach restaurants and shops by foot. Staff was friendly and spoke either German or English. Breakfast was just OK. I actually enjoyed the choice of music in the restaurant and breakfast area, blasting rock and metal is my thing. Maybe it was just a tiny bit too loud. It is definitely something unusual.
No air conditioning in the rooms. Located next to a fairly busy street, so if you need fresh air, cars, pedestrians and honking trains might wake you up. Chair in the room was not comfortable (basically no back rest, just a piece of wood). Shower drain should be emptied more often as it was clogging and flooding the bathroom. Dinner in the restaurant was bad, please go somewhere else. We waited almost an hour for two meals and they were not tasty. No hotel parking lot, you must find a place next to the train station and pay (around 4 euro per day). The Wellness area consists of one Finnish sauna and a steam room. Only 5 sunbeds were provided, too little for the amount of guests. It was a bit dark there, no nice ambient light and also no music, only a stressing sound of the ticking clock. Hotel could arrange a small table with water and cups in the wellness area, now it's just a bunch of paper cups in a plastic bag next to a bottle of water placed on a weird bench (facing sunbeds), overall a bit awkward.

1. No A/C - the room was situated to west-ish side, therefore if was very hot at the evening time. To keep the room somehow cool over the night the window must be open, which is annoying due to street and road noises.:(( 2. NO PARKING :((

A west-facing room can indeed become warmer in the summer evenings, and we are working on ways to make the stay more comfortable under these conditions. Regarding parking, unfortunately, there are municipal regulations in place that we cannot influence, but we always try to provide our guests with tips for the nearest available options. Verified reviewLovely room with town view and excellent sauna facilities. Especially enjoyed the plunge bucket and water ready for us. Breakfast was excellent with very attentive waiting staff. We were given cooked breakfast and smoothies which was lovely.
We wanted to swap room for one with a balcony but was told it was not possible so that was a shame. If you want a balcony ask to stay on higer levels. Restaurant was closed on the night due to unforeseen circumstances but we managed to find a lovely place in town.

Verified reviewVery comfortable new hotel in the center of Železná Ruda. Easy check-in and check-out. The hotel room was big enough for us, well equipped and clean. The bathroom was big enough and also well equipped, the bed was very comfortable. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful, they quickly helped me with a wrong reservation (my mistake) without any problems. Breakfast includes a wide selection of food and drinks. There is also a wellness and sauna (free for hotel guests), but we did not visit them. Hotel has not parking, but you can park on the street nearby. Few meters from the hotel, there is public parking. This was not a big problem for me. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Verified reviewVery nice room, clean, with great balcony. The building is brand new and well kept. The breakfast is exceptional - there is everything from pastries and sausages to fresh fruit and vegetables. The most pleasant aspect of our stay was the staff - namely Erika, who is the single most exceptional employee of the hotel!
The parking was only paid across the street or free, but a bit far away. So beware of the small print when booking. It was not a deal breaker, but definitely not a pleasant surprise.

Verified reviewHad a great time at the hotel, everything was clean and the breakfast was exceptional! Just one little thing, there were no vegetarian or vegan options for dinner in the restaurant but luckily there are other restaurants nearby.
