How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewOn a quiet street but around the corner os the middle of the old town. Quiet and clean. Air conditioner worked pretty good in the middle of the summer. Bed comfortable and shower/bathroom was good. Very nice breakfast but not included.
Because in the middle of pedestrian-only area, had to park in public lot. Not that bad, but would have been nice to have instruction to drop bags in the reserve lot as to not have to walk up a VERY long flight of stair with our luggage. Definitely options to decrease the inconvenience.

We were there on a Wednesday and apparently the staff don't clean rooms on Wednesdays? It wasn't a huge problem and we were able to get clean towels but that was a bit of a surprise.

Verified reviewThe design is amazing. Rooms are so nice and beautiful. Perfectly decorated for the character of the city. I felt that I was licing in another era. I liked the approach and politeness of the staff especially from the lady and i liked the comfy breakfast. Was really tasty.
I couldnt turn off the AC. I tried to find the switch but with no luck. I wish to also had a shower in the room except from the bathtub. No slippers and small towels. For a five star hotel you should provide large nice comfy towels not so small. We had an incident with the hot water in the first night but the management team tried and they fixed it overnight.
Hello Nikos, thank you for your feedback, we are very happy you have enjoyed your stay. We are very sorry for the difficulties, you had during your stay with the hot water. Unfortunately this situations could happen in old building like this and it is completely unpredictable for us. We always try to fix it as soon as possible, but still.. the system has its limits. Luckily this happens only a few times in a year.... Please let us to explain some things you mentioned in the review (also for other guests). - We are not Hotel with 5 stars (this information is wrong) and we do not provide services like in Hotels. The concept is B&B (bistro and beds). Anyway if you had asked, you could get slippers, because we have them. The reason we don't provide them in the room is purely ecological. Slippers are a one-time thing, the guest uses them and we have to throw them away, so they are only on request. - The towels are standard size, our guests always get one smaller and one large towel in the room. - You have booked one of our Signature Suite, rooms with a bathtubs. We have one attic one with shower as well, but is not written anywhere, so still you have booked room with a bathtub. - It's a pity you didn't ask about the air conditioning, we would have been happy to advise you where to find the button or we could even set the air conditioning remotely according to your needs. All of these shortcomings that your stay had could have been avoided with better communication before booking and during your stay. Verified reviewI stayed at Monastery Garden when attending the 2025 Music Festival in Český Krumlov. Monastery Garden was absolutely amazing and it beat all my expectations. It's not only about the perfect location in the heart of the town but the hotel has a beautiful design, combining modern and old in every detail, and wonderful people who run it. Verified reviewOutstanding boutique hotel run by a perfect host. This was a delightful find and it's a shame we only had 1 night here. If we ever return to Český Krumlov this will be top of our list. Superbly located on the edge of the historic centre and just below the enormous castle this had everything you needed and more. The breakfast area was beautiful and this was matched by our room. The breakfast itself was amazing and all cooked fresh and to order. The highlight here though is Eduardo the host - what a lovely, helpful man. He was so friendly without being over the top and was an absolute pleasure to talk to. A business is nothing without its staff and here the staff are the best. A total gem of a place!

Verified reviewWhat a lovely property with generous hosts. My husband and I cannot wait to return. All the comforts you might wish for on vacation. The spacious room was pleasantly decorated and had A/C which was a delicious after a day on the river. We didn’t get to try the sweet cafe downstairs because it’s closed Tuesdays/Wednesdays but that just made us want to return. The location was perfect to explore castle and shops and plenty of restaurants and bars surrounding it. I had forgotten to mention an allergy to down and both hosts found regular pillows and comforter for us. It’s clear they care about their guests. We cannot wait to return!
Sure wish the kitchen was open for guests Tuesday and Wednesday but understand the need for two days off as well.
