How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGood breakfast, the bedroom was nice and furnished with IKEA stuff, minibar, big tv with free netflix, nice staff.
This is clearly a renovated hostel trying to pass as an hotel. Many rooms do not have an ensuite bathroom, but external ones. Sound insulation is very poor, so I could hear my neighbour going to the bathroom and going back all the time. There was also a common shower room for those rooms without ensuite. My room had ensuite, but the bathroom was very weird. The sink was new, but the toilet and the shower were very old and dirty. The bathroom tiles were also old and dirty. I can't see the point of renovating a bathroom but only partially, it's just odd. The rooms were not cleanend daily, you had to request it. There is a lift, but you have to take the stairs in order to reach it, which is weird and kinda misses the point of having a lift. The location is not great, it's in a part of town still heavily under development, with not much going on, dark at night and a bit sketchy.

Verified reviewThe door was broken and wouldn’t close properly, leaving a 5 cm gap for anyone to look straight inside. We reported it, but the manager simply told us there’s nothing he could do and that we should just spend the night like that. Imagine being expected to “sleep peacefully” knowing anyone could literally walk right in. 😂😂😂 And compensation? Of course, nothing.

Verified reviewSuper clean, all the beds were cery comfortable. We arrived in the midnight - we got the key pass and went to the room without problem. Suprisengly great breakfast full of variaties. Very quick and smooth contact with online reception.
The access to the hotel is not clearly signposted and because of road works in Brno there is very weird access by public roads. They also have onlyba few parling spots. If you don't get it you need to park outside along the street - it is not easy even in the weekend....

The room was very small, and the most unpleasant surprise was that the toilet was outside the room! It was private, but not inside the room, which was very strange and not comfortable at all. Also, some rooms had a shower that was located outside the room. All in all, it was quite inconvenient. And the most problematic thing is that this was not mentioned during booking, because if it had been, we definitely wouldn’t have chosen this hotel.

Verified reviewWe really liked our stay in Brno! The room was cozy and clean, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The breakfast was the best part – tasty, fresh, and with lots of choices. The people working there were super nice and friendly too, specially Anna. A lovely surprise was the free minibar in the room – such a thoughtful gesture, especially appreciated in the hot summer. Would definitely come back.
The only thing I didn’t like was limited parking spaces.

Verified reviewOn the positive side, the staff were very friendly, and there was a complimentary soft drink and peanuts in the minibar.
We booked two rooms: one was perfect, but the other had a few issues. Although the room had its own toilet, it was located in the hallway, which was not mentioned at the time of booking. The doors could only be closed from the outside by slamming them (not with the handle), which created noise, so the neighbouring guests could hear every time someone went to the bathroom at night. The bathtub was completely rusted.

Verified reviewVery good breakfast, comfortable hard mattresses, black out curtains. The stuff working in the morning during breakfast was friendly. Baby chair available during breakfast. Possibility of leaving the luggage during the day.
Stairs everywhere, elevator between floors. You can hear a lot of noice at night from the hallway while other people are unlocking their door. In the morning you don't need an alarm clock because a smell of fried bacon will wake you up around 6. We made a reservation of a crib through booking and when we arrived it wasn't ready and the stuff was quite mean saying we should have called to the reception. Eventually they brought the bed, we had to unpack it ourselves and it was without mattress and bedding. Also we had a very dirty wall with a smell of mold. Broken sink and quite old a dirty windows. The fridge in the room is useless because it's light is on all night and brights the whole room so we had to turn it off eventually. It's very expensive for what you actually get.

The room reeked of smoke, and the water wouldn’t drain in the shower, so it was impossible to wash properly.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in our hotel, but unfortunately not every guest respects this rule.
