How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location - close to Charles bridge, many restaurants and tram stop. A plumbing issue was nicely resolved with an upgraded room. Excellent breakfast.
A/C locked at 25C which was warm for the room.

Verified reviewLocation was excellent, quiet but still central. Rooms were beautifully decorated and we had a fantastic view of the castle from our window.
1. There is only one mirror, which is in the bathroom above the sink and so high that i could barely see my whole face. 2. Next to that mirror was the worst hairdryer I have ever experienced. I could barely keep it on with one hand and it was not powerful. 3. We returned to our room one night to find that the housekeeping staff had left the hot water running in the bath. 4. Worst experience was the reception staff…not cordial or service oriented and extremely unfriendly. On our last day, we asked for a hotel taxi to the train station but it was far more expensive than uber. The reception lady asked us how much we are willing to pay and she would check if hotel car was available and it may take time. By the time we came back with our bags, she informed us that she has called the hotel taxi and we cannot back out and must pay whatever we have. The “taxi” turned out to be a young girl, very obviously her relative, and definitely Not the hotel car. Though she got us to the station, we found it unethical for staff to dupe us in this manner.

Verified reviewLocation was perfect - with a garden nearby for a moment of quiet respite and easy access to the Old Town, the shore of Veltava, and to Hradczany.
It would be great if sauna were available later in the evening - to relax after the day of sightseeing.

Verified reviewSuperb location and very quiet. Unlike modern hotels, you could not hear any other guests moving about.
The AC unit is noisy and as it faces the bed, you have to sleep woth the flashing lights if you want it on at night.

Verified reviewLovely hotel in an historic building in a great but relatively quiet location only 5 minutes from Charles Bridge and Malostranska metro station.. Stunning view of castle from bedroom and bathroom of deluxe room with castle view. Rooms are very comfortably furnished with ornate ceilings, period furniture and original paintings and frescos. Buffet breakfast in dining area with good selection of cereals, fruit, cold cuts and cheeses and a few hot options.
Coffee maker in room that I did not use but coffee pods are charged for and not provided free of charge as one might expect.

Flies all over the food. No bar or restaurant in the hotel. They charge for the cofe in your room. We had a suite which cost £1.200 for a week expected the coffee to be free like it is every other hotel ive ever stayed in.

Verified reviewThe hotel was beautifully decorated. The room was comfortable & had great air conditioning. The en-suite was lovely. We were in the old part of the hotel, so there wasn't a lift. We had about 49 steps up to our room. Staff were very helpful & booked us a night at a Vivaldi concert & a taxi to the airport. The breakfast was lovely but I really think there should be covers on all the food as there were some wasps around the food. The hotel is five minutes away from the Charles Bridge, so it is in a very central location. Make sure you visit the park next door with the peacocks.

Verified reviewAbsolutely perfect stay. The reception is manned 24/7 so there is always someone there to welcome you with a smile. Staff in general are lovely. The rooms are very spacious and have everything you need. The location couldn’t be better. Breakfast is huge and delicious. We’ll definitely stay here again when we return to Prague.
Nothing we didn’t like.
