Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NorwayThere was rehabilitation of the house going on when we were there. It wasn't particularly invasive, but it did limit parking and privacy a bit. Personally I think the €1 coin for a cup of capsule coffee in the lobby was a bit tacky.
The location was nice and peaceful and the rooms were charming and very nice. Have nothing but nice things to say about the staff, that really seemed to do their best for us to enjoy our stay. For such a relatively small hotel, the breakfast was surprisingly good and well stocked

NetherlandsThe room (# 7) was actually not inside the "management-villa" but outside, and had to be reached by walking along a public street. Except for a single exterior wall and the internal staircase there is nothing left of the old villa: inside is cramped, white, and modern, without any style or beauty. Receptionist was polite but not welcoming - not friendly, in the morning he took care of breakfast, also not friendly: not a single smile. Room was not ventilated, unless we opened a window, and that window was on a public street with traffic. Bathroom was not ventilated, meaning all the moisture from the shower stayed in the room. Small airco did not dry the room, only added cold air to the humidity. The double bed had two different mattresses, 1 springs - 1 foam, in different thicknesses. Rolling shade on the glass entrance door would not stay down all the way: about 50cm of the glass remained uncovered. In the end we placed two chairs in front of the door and hang the bedcover over it, to have some privacy. After 19:00 no staff present at the facilities. Want to have a hot drink? No kettle in the room. In the hall there is a coffee-vending machine. Paid 1 euro for a small cup of hot water to make tea, but that same small cup got only filled halfway... Not enough parking for all guests at the hotel grounds.
Room looked very good, like brandnew, clean, modern. Breakfast was great

New ZealandThere were four parking places off the road and the rest were on the road itself, which had local vehicles travelling past, although they were not fast. Most of the parking places were slanted against the building but we were lucky enough to arrive early enough to get the largest one which was alongside the hotel so was completely off the road. Not really a problem.
This is an older building in a quiet area off the main road. The man at reception was very helpful and provided us with an electric kettle when we discovered it was missing from our room. He also opened the windows for us. They were quite stiff and we were afraid that we might damage something if we tried opening them ourselves. It's not far to drive into Flensburg, with supermarkets on the way. There were several English language television channels.

GermanyRoom on the 1st floor (it's single storey building), with windows facing the parking lot. In the summer we had the windows open to keep the room cool, which, although in a very quiet area, did not feel like such a safe thing to do. The self check-in system was cool but you need to make sure that you arrive with phone with internet and battery to be able to open the doors. Had a bit of difficulty with finding the room (description: first room on the left side of the glass door, but we couldn't find the glass door). There was no fridge.
Location in the middle of the nature, very quiet and in walking distance to the German-Danish border. Plenty of parking spots. Room very spacious and clean. Self check-in system, opening the doors with your phone through the system. Water boiler and cups. With car, 10min from Flensburg city center.

RomaniaThe staff didn’t provide a shower gel, even I asked for it. The price for a room seem for me quite high, according with the location of the facility.

NorwayHardly ever saw any staff, which I suspect would be good for most people!
Beautiful room in an older villa just outside of Flensburg. Both me and my significant other were amazed at the beauty both of the accommodation and the area itself! Would definitely recommend :) That being said, it does help that we knew what we signed up for in advance, if we had come expecting hyper-modern amenities in said older historical villa, that would have lead to a more negative experience. Older buildings have their own beauty, charm and quirks, and in all honesty I preferred it over "just-another-hotel-room".

FranceI had asked in advance and informed that I were bringing two small dogs, and I received a written confirmation that it was accepted and at no extra cost for us. When I left the keys the owner told me that I needed to pay 20 euros in additional cost. When I showed the mail with their acceptance, they denied that they had sent it. I paid the 20 euros, and I don’t mind paying a fee for the dogs but I do mind when they confirm that it is ok with no extra cost and then act as I didn’t inform them about the dogs. We will book with another hotel on our way back home again.
All new and renovated room, good size and clean.
