Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe parking situation wasn't great. There was the option to pay extra for a parking spot in front of the hotel but this was limited and there weren't any spots left for us. There was some limited free parking nearby, but it was often full. The next parking lot was about a 10 minute walk. The breakfast was just croissants, jam, and juice isn't necessarily worth 10 euro per person.
The room was so lovely, with a gorgeous view overlooking a pond. The bed was reasonably comfortable and, in the German style, we each had our own duvet. The location is really nice - close to the center, but also quick access to roads out of town.

United KingdomNo safe in the room.
This hotel provides beautifully clean and simple accommodation with a simple breakfast. It was just what we wanted. Not luxury or pampering. Just what you need to spend a few nights in this beautiful and interesting city.

GermanyThe faintest smell of wet - but there‘s this lake just outside, so let’s put it down to Nature. And my goodness, aren’t hotel prices rising fast in this category.
The friendly, helpful staff and the well-cleaned room.

SwedenGreat budget accommodation close to the city centre with everything you need within walking distance. Clean and in fresh condition. Having the bathroom separate on the opposite side of the corridor wasn't a problem at all since you had your own and there aren't that many rooms anyway, so other guests kept mostly to themselves. Very nice and helpful staff.

CyprusAlthough the room was nice, we were surprised to find that we were only provided with a bar of soap in the bathroom, no shampoo or body wash in sight. Although the staff to be accommodating, it was disappointing considering the price we paid for the room. We also visited Lubeck during a public holiday, so that made things trickier as all the shops were closed, thankfully, we found a in the train station - for future reference.
The location is amazing. It has a bus stop right in front so it's it a blessing if you are carrying any baggage with you and are coming from the train station. It's also 8 mins walk from the city centre and has a plethora of restaurants close by, it even has a cinema across the road. It's also located right next to a beautiful lake, so you can take a lovely morning walk if you'd wish to do so.

NetherlandsIf you get the small rooms, the bathroom is on the opposite side of the hallway. Each room has a private bathroom, it's just a bit unusual that you have to cross the hallway.
Friendly staff and they have smart TVs. The location is perfect, close to the city center with a bus stop right across. It's close to the Mühlenteich which is a great location to walk or just sit down.

GermanyThe bathroom is quite small. The tiny sink makes it a bit difficult to shave and the shower door will be hard to close, if your body is just a little on the large side.
The hotel is very simple. The rooms are small, but big enough. What makes it so special is the view out over the water and the tasteful interior design. If you like simple, somewhat Scandinavian style, then you will like this.

TurkeyThe location of the hotel is really beautiful. Not only that it is very close to the downtown but also being next to the little lake "Mühlenteich" with the ducks and the gulls and the garden in the view. It is nothing of a bit of a luxury but it is clean and in a way unique. Breakfast is super simple but still lovely in the way it is prepared. I think the weard combination of the bare simplicity of the hotel together with its wonderful placement near the water is somewhat attractive on its own. Was really a good choice in its price category.

DenmarkThe bed and I did not agree. I told it to the reception and the problem would be corrected urgently. Breakfast was not available due to the Covid-19, but there are many good bakeries on the main street.
A nice and well equipped room. The place is situated at the end of the main street and in easy walking distance to all the main attractions in Lübeck. The reception was very helpfull with information and answers to our many questions.

United KingdomTiny room which was not clean. Lots of hairs in the bathroom; no curtains or shutters for windows so lots of light from outside. Paper thin walls so you hear everything from surrounding rooms. For the price this hotel was very disappointing! Should have been maximum half the cost it was

SwitzerlandWe have not been able to get into the hotel. We had to call for a key code and to write it down. Unfortunately I lost the code on the journey. No confirmation of the code by text message or mail was written. We were desperate when standing in front of the door without a chance to talk to anyone of the staff. No emergency number is available. All the hotels in town were full this night.

Great location in the old town. Really friendly staff. We had a great time walking around the old town and having coffee in the little cafe's. The accomodation itself was very good value and there are 3 parking spaces outside that you can book in advance.
