Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

I liked everything.
One of my top five all time breakfasts! Really outstanding with homemade jam and excellent rolls. The garden was a lovely place to sit and the room was quiet and peaceful. The couple who run the hotel were lovely and it was excellent value.

Everything was great. Maybe the pillows/bed could have been a little more comfortable, but overall it was a great experience.
The owner went above and beyond with accommodating my requests. The room I initially got didn’t have a desk and I got moved to another one. The breakfast was great and included home made jams and fresh bread.

Without a fan or air-con during an unexpected heatwave in Europe, the room was quite hot at night!
Excellent breakfast - the homemade jam was delicious! Location is perfect, with the magical forest right behind the hotel and the old town a few minutes walk from the front of the hotel. Peter is an extremely kind and generous host.

There were some hairs on the bed upon arrival. It seemed like the duvet covers and pillow cases collect fuzz and hair, so while I’m sure they were washed, they seemed unclean. There were also a couple spiders in the room.
Huge spacious room in a great location. The staff were incredibly friendly. It was convenient to have parking on site.

Peter met us at arrival & departure. Gave many helpful advices and took care of us during stay. Spacious and simple- all worked effectively. Amazing breakfast, using local produce. Peter, Saskia and their daughter are great team at breakfast. Cleaning staff are so friendly and efficient, cleaned promptly each day. The hotel is next to Heidelberg University, we enjoyed visiting the main building -full of ancient exhibitions.

The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. I was in the area to hike, and the owner gave me some tips on where to start my hike, as it had rained the day before. The breakfast was excellent and well worth the money. The facilities and room were quite standard and nothing out of the ordinary, but the staff made the experience unexpectedly great.

Had to skip my shower in the morning because the water wasn't very hot. Probably a timing thing as the water was plenty hot the night before. The pillow was very uncomfortable. It was made up of very loosely packed lumpy material which did not support my neck or my head.

Arrived Wed 4 Sep for 2 nights. Parking available right outside entrance. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was very large with sofas and chairs as well as a very comfortable bed. Overlooking the street but not too much noise. Breakfast brought to the table rather than a buffet. Excellent choice, everything one could want. About 20 min walk down pedestrian shopping street to Altstadt for pubs breweries and Schloss. Great value for this part of the city.

I would have appreciated an extra towel or two in the bathroom, and I couldn't figure out how the TV channels listed in the guide matched up with the actual channels, but these are minor points.
An excellent and abundant breakfast is one of the things I liked best about the Hotel Anlage; another appealing feature is the very friendly and helpful staff.
