Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenPool didn’t look clean. Thought it was a pond at first. Maybe not a lot of people who go swimming in it. It was just leaves though. The actual water looked clean in general.
They let me put my bag in a storage space while I went on a three day hike.

EcuadorThe room and hotel was nice, had an old age style. The bathroom was a little disappointing, for the toilet products they offered, they seemed cheap for the place. The sauna didnt work. The place looks really nice still. They offered free coffee. The Wifi had really bad connection in the room. It is in the center of Partnach, it was lovely.

BelgiumBooking.com instructions invited me to a different hotel!! I saw a rat coming from the kitchen area that went under the bar and seemed quite at home. Barman didnt seem too bothered.
Wasnt expecting very much but pleasantly surprised. OK, decor is fading a little but quite a few facilities for an older style hotel, centrally located, very helpful lady on front desk. Very nice sauna area.

United StatesStepping into the shower would be difficult for those without a climbing or gymnastics background. The bed was fit for a king -- a short medieval king who doesn't turn side to side overnight. Walking from reception to the bedroom was a bit like walking from Palace to Barn in terms of decoration; a fun bit of a hodge podge of styles going on there.
The Atlas Grand Hotel* has labyrinthine halls with antique artwork and furniture, making this hotel better than some museums I've been in. It felt like a step back in time to somewhere in between Cinderella or the Addams Family. A statue watched me sleep. Relaxing multilevel patio area with a pond. Fairy-tale like neighborhood (especially wandering uphill through the churchyard and beyond). I was welcomed with a Sekt (sparkling wine). *My booking for the Hotel Atlas Sport was converted (upgraded) into the Atlas Grand Hotel, 700m away.

PortugalThe room was a little dated but the bathroom was renovated which was nice
We were upgraded to the Atlas Grand Hotel as the Atlas Sport was closed for renovations. It was a lovely hotel in the heart of the old town. Staff were very friendly and helpful and parking was easy in an undercover carpark just by the hotel.

United StatesThe hotel had the room booked out because of a Ukrainan conference so they had rebooked me for another hotel about 3 km away. It was in a cultural Easter part of town which I liked! Situation wasn't ideal but I do appreciate the staff's ability to be flexible and find other accommodations for me

GermanyI was a little stressed about having our hotel switched, but I think it was actually a free upgrade.
I booked this hotel on late notice (the day of) then they messaged me saying they would have to move us to their sister hotel. Their sister hotel was the Atlas Grand which was located in the "center" of town. Our stay was absolutely wonderful there, and the staff was incredibly friendly,

AustraliaNothing.
We stayed in the the Grand Hotel rather the Sports Hotel as the latter was not available even thought that is where we had booked. It was very welcoming with several drinks on arrival (including champagne). The room was large as was the bathroom and tney were clean and comfortable. It had a good view right down into the street of the old town which is very pretty.

UkraineI booked a room with a balcony, and in addition, I indicated in my wishes that I would like to have a view of the mountains from the balcony. Unfortunately, we got a room without a balcony with a window facing the street. It was a surprise that there was an old church opposite, where a clock chimed every 15 minutes, even at night. And at 6 am, it chimed longer than usual, as if it wanted to wake up the whole city. I can't say that it caused us much discomfort, but for those who want to have peace and quiet, keep this in mind. Also, when booking, we indicated the estimated time of arrival. We arrived at about 9 am, but could not check in earlier than that. However, we were able to leave our luggage for storage and use the restroom. Since we didn't want to waste time waiting for check-in, we went to enjoy the area and returned around 8 pm, when we were checked in. There was only 1 set of cosmetics in our bathroom, but it was really not enough for two people, so we had to ask the reception for an additional set.
After booking the room, we received a message that we would be waiting for us at the partner hotel Atlas Grand Hotel. This is an old and very atmospheric hotel on a cozy street with a bakery, cafes and restaurants, and also with minimal proximity to public transport. We had a small room in an old style with a modern bathroom.

SwedenBreakfast €18.00 way to expensive! I got a basic, descent breakfast for half the price, across the street, at the local bakery/café.
* Had a booking at Atlas Sport (sisterhotell), but it hadn't opened yet for the season (!!?). So I got upgraded to this classic hotel. Def value for money! * Location. * The classic atmosphere .

IrelandI had booked my stay in hotel atlas sport. When I arrived there, the hotel was closed and there was a sign telling me to call a number. I called and they told me my stay was transferred to the atlas grand hotel. They told me they sent a message to tell me about this. The message was in German!!!!! Ok, after going to the grand hotel, we were assigned rooms etc but the bathroom had a slight smell of sewage. Some plumbing issue. The restaurant staff in the hotel doesn’t speak English and also doesn’t even try. They ignored me and my friend several times up to the point we gave up and went to another restaurant in the street. In general, the staff was quite rude (like, if we ask things in English often they would reply back in German). I expected better treatment in a 4 star hotel.
