Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe following points didn’t bother us (so not really negative) but may be good to know. * Cochem is NOT made for cars. The streets in the center (where the B&B is located) are narrow and STEEP with a LOT of pedestrians during the day. There may be a parking space that can be arranged by the host (we had that) but it’s not guaranteed and even so getting to that space is not for the faint of heart (narrow, steep and lots of pedestrians!). We left the car for two days and would not have been able to leave earlier as we were completely parked in during a holiday. There is not much alternative overnight parking anywhere very close. * Ask for a room on the ground floor if steep, narrow stairs are a problem.
The B&B is in an old house right in the center of Cochem, ideally located to explore the old town, restaurants, shops, walk along the river front or up to the castle. We had the family room (which is actually two joined rooms) on the 3rd (top) floor. It was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We loved the beds and the quiet as there is almost no car traffic in the old town. The breakfast wasn’t super luxurious but adequate and freshly prepared. The host was friendly and very helpful with advice.

MalaysiaThere is a bit of walk from the station, make sure you take the main road which is easier to drag the luggage from there
They gave us the room on there ground floor, and the breakfast was superb

CanadaCheck-in could have been smoother - the owner texted the keycode to me the morning of our booking. The problem is that I had installed a European eSim because Canadian data costs $15/day to use in Europe so I could not receive text messages (an Airalo eSIM was WAY cheaper). It would have been better to either message through booking.com (where I had done all previous communications with the property) or email me (or all three) to ensure I had check-in information. Of note, I had not texted the BnB before so I didn't have an expectation that I would be getting check-in via SMS. SO to anyone who is considering using an eSIM, please reach out to the property to confirm check-in details otherwise you run the risk of not being able to check-in. This doesn't apply to anyone from a country with reasonably priced mobile plans, but for Canadians, I definitely wanted to flag!!!!!
Super centrally located (so central that all the surrounding streets were closed during Winefest, which made figuring out where to park a bit challenging). The apartment was very charming and well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and we would highly recommend this location to anyone. We booked the apartment and found it perfectly appointed for our family of four.

Good sense.

NetherlandsI would recommend to maybe add a few possible parking garages where people can park and to inform them they can drop their bags and then go park there. Parking is quite a struggle in Cochem.
Very spacious rooms with a great location. Close to the castle and walking distance to all restaurants and centre. Good breakfast and overall very good value for money.

New ZealandIt would be nice to have a lockable room to leave the bags after check out. No privacy as people on the street could see into the room through the gaps between the window blinds and the window frames - need to change to a curtain that actually blocks the whole view from the street.
Comfortable. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Wine glasses in the room.

GermanyThe internet connection was a bit weak in the room, but it’s not the must have if you would like to have a chilling vocation in Cochem!
Nice location, warm welcome from the hotel, comfortable beds, clean and quiet room, coffee and tea are provided for free, breakfast optional.

United StatesWe were never told we had to give a time for breakfast and they texted us a night asking what time we wanted it but I did not see it until morning, so they said we could not have breakfast. They checkout time was also different than listed. We had to leave an hour before the listed time and were given very minimal notice.
It was a great location and very comfortable.

BelgiumMain downside is the slow and unreliable WiFi. Beyond that, it's a little award to have no interaction with a reception or host upon arrival; keys are kept in key-code lockers at the front, and you receive a text message to tell you which locker, and which code you need for your room.
great location, very close to the castle. Friendly host, who serves a good breakfast (included in price), and remembers my preferences (like how I drink tea, not coffee). Very good value for your money!
