Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is not a complaint,as it is as it is,but behind the hotel the busy railways hurtles past, and the road in front is busy. However we weren’t disturbed at night by it at all,and the hotel is charming and worth a visit.
We loved the welcome, the position, the room with a view across to the very busy Rhine and across to cliffs and castles. We loved watching the strong flow ofthe Rhine, the commercial and pleasure trips go by. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows.A little seating area was perfect for watching the river and the boats.A wonderful view. Breakfast was very nice ,and the staff very pleasant and friendly. The little bar was lovely, where were offered soup or snacks as the restaurant was closed.Plenty of drinks available during the evening, guests keeping a tally to present on checkout. Outside there is plenty of seating to watch the world go by.Lots of parking.

GermanyThe room got very warm and with a long-haired dog, she didn’t feel too comfortable as she only had a small space with tiles to cool down. There was a fan and an extension cable so that helped and it was ok for a few nights and I appreciate a hotel can’t do anything about the Summer temperatures. There were specials at the restaurant but all were meat dishes so as a vegetarian couldn’t benefit from this. There were, however, enough options on the menu to choose from.
The breakfast was great. Had all you needed. The staff were lovely and very accommodating and dog-friendly. Loved the fact that it is family run. Fantastic view on the Loreley where you can sit on the verandah and chill. We ate at the restaurant a few nights. Good quality food with a few vegetarian options. Loved the fact there were so many free parking spaces. Good location to explore the Rhine area.

NetherlandsNothing at this price.
Very nice located with direct view on the Lorely. You never get boared looking from the terras or dining room at the boats passing the river Rhine curves. Friendly family driven hotel, clean rooms and good restaurant. We love to visit this place and will come back for sure.

AustriaThat the restaurant is closed two days per week, so you have to use another hotel’s restaurant for food!
Large spacious rooms and clean throughout the hotel.

United KingdomThe trains are quite noisy so we had to keep the windows shut.
We loved the location, so close to the Rhine and we enjoyed watching the boats on the river and also the trains going past. We were told that breakfast would be served from 8am, but when we said we had a train to catch, the staff were very accommodating and encouraged to come down early for breakfast. We were very glad to have a fan in the bedroom as the weather was hot.

United KingdomBed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was OK but little fresh fruit, and scrambled egg was solid. No tea making in room.
Hotel has a great outlook but next to main road and railway line. Staff were friendly. I borrowed a bike which was good.

FinlandLack of air conditioning in room could make life difficult during warmest summer months. Busy railroad segment next to hotel and jury-rigged cooling device on roof of a lower part of the building facing the river generate noise that could bother sleeping depending on room location. The smallest bookable room type is too small for two persons travelling with anything more than small backpacks.
Clean, well-maintained room and premises. Manageable breakfast. Location is beautiful by German standards. Nearby camping ground has a mini-grocery store for restocking drinks and snacks. Decently accessible for travellers without vehicle attending Loreley amphitheatre events.

The hotel is in a great location across from the Rhine. Our room had a clear view across the river. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location provides easy walk to the cruise ship terminal at Sankt Goar. The room was very clean and the restaurant and breakfast were exceptional.

GermanyThe bed needs bringing up to the Modern Age it’s from the 70s my granny has one wooden frame! The mattress well only one word change it!😂 Uncomfortable. Very old German Style but try it you may like it.
Friendly staff, good restaurant if you like schnitzel (pork steak with batter) very nice S M L Medium is enough and small for light eater’s, and for those with a hunger L . Try it! 🍋 cheese if you don’t like mushroom sauce! But there are other variety. The rooms are a bit out dated , looked like Granny’s room, and the mattress needs updating, uncomfortable, Overall it’s certainly worth a over night stop driving or cycling down the Rhine, lovely view of Loreleyblick. You need two days if you want to make a boat trip!

United KingdomWhen we arrived, the place was locked up and we had to contact the owner. The web site needs updating because the restaurant was closed and remained so for the duration of our stay. The bar was closed for the duration of our stay, but there was an honesty bar with a small selection of drink, open from 6pm to 10pm. The web site states a .6 of a mile walk into the city centre of Sankt Goar, when infact it is 1.3 miles. To sum things up, after a long drive, all we wanted to do was to sit down, have a drink, and eat a nice meal at the side of the Rhine, and this didn't happen, so our aspirations based on the information on the web site were disappointed.
The view from the hotel was to die for. The Rhine was straight across the road. The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of parking spaces in the car park. Staff were very nice and the choices at the breakfast buffet was god.
