How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewI like that the hotel wasn’t hard to find, it’s a beautiful and cozy hotel as a solo traveler I like how comfortable the place was, my only problem was cleanliness, it was quite dusty ( especially the night table and wardrobe, I believe that could be put into consideration.

Verified reviewExcellent location, 10 mins away from the main train station by tram. Pretty clean room and nice neighbourhood. The curtains covered the windows completely for a peaceful sleep (might sound a minor detail, but many establishments even ignore this basic rule). Very nice, automated mini bar close to the reception.
I'm not sure if booking.com shows a guest's special requests to the staff choosing the room. I asked even in person for a room far from entrance doors and elevators, the staff gave me a room right next to the elevators. Shows that the staff really doesn't care too much. Sound proofing of rooms inadequate, if someone next door closed (or actually, slammed) their doors, my bed was just shaking for a few seconds.

It is incredible that hotels in Leipzig make their business customers pay tourist tax. Even tough the town of Leipzig demands it, it does feel like a ripoff. Almost everywhere else in Germany this would not work. How is that attracting business customers? The desk clerk was politly pointing out that we have to suck it up and get over with ... its the local rule. The Légère Express fees are no longer budget level, the prices for breakfast and other services are comparable high considering it is only Leipzig and no cosmopolitan city hub.

First impressions are very important, and the personal touch, especially as many customers will have travelled from abroad and this may be their first time in the country. Having someone greeting them, checking them in, making them feel at home, would be preferable to the impersonal 'check-yourself-in-on-the-computer-screen' approach adopted by Legere here. It was very annoying. Someone described it as an upmarket hostel, and I'd agree. Staff, once I had checked myself in, I found friendly enough.

no one at reception when I arrived, had to wait 12minutes you have buy bottled water for the room I left my neck pillow in the room, emailed them the same day advising as such, no response. went back to hotel 4 days later and reported that I had left my neck pillow in the room Front of house manager could not find it, another manager got involved after I got annoyed. He went looking, no luck. I told him to.locate cleaning lady and enquire. eventually he phoned the lady only to find out the neck pillow was still in her bag. Next day when she came to work she returned the pillow. Totally unacceptable 😒
