How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewExcellent location in de hart of the old city. The family suite was spacious enough with comfortable beds and a nice interior. We could park our car nearby. The communication was great and the staff was friendly.
We stayed for one night. The only thing I can think of is that the wifi looked to be unstable with varying speeds of 0mbps to 260mbps. Not a really problem with availability of 5g mobile coverage.

Verified reviewCentral location, spacious and design room. The cafe downstairs serves breakfast, except Mondays, there are many restaurants around. The owner and staff were very nice.

Verified reviewHuge pros: friendly team, location. Also I’d love to recommend Caffe Rinaldi from the same team.
For two it’s an ideal place, for the family with two kids we felt a bit crowded. Additionally, parking by the hotel is available, but is not always free and empty. So I ended up choosing a 3rd party garage nearby.

Verified reviewAmazing location and very comfortable bed. We were on the third floor and there was no lift - we took the stairs slowly and it wasn't a major issue for us. 24hr carpark 3 mins walk - next to a Rewe! And an amazing collection of restaurants within easy walking distance.
We had only booked one night

Verified reviewIt is located literally in the city center, so we have everything we need within reach. The city has an old-fashioned vibe so it's interesting to walk around in the evening. The bed was good, as everywhere. It's an old building, so there's no elevator. To collect your keys, we had to contact the waiter at the nearby restaurant. But it did not bring any complications to our trip.
The ceiling is low. Something like 1.9m maybe, so if you're tall, it's not an option for you. The decoration is interesting, but I'm not sure everyone appreciates this style. In either way for couple of days it's a good place to stay.

Verified reviewGreat space and location for our family of 4. Kids shared the large bed that’s in a separate room. We had the air suite. Parking right outside the door.

Verified reviewGood decoration
very low ceiling feeling you are in an attic, the door was not optimal and the lack of lift means you need to carry all luggage up the stairs. The "hotel" is without staff and you have to pick up the keys from a nearby Cafe that "officially opens at 9:00 am the next day". so how can someone can check out earlier??? Oh yes, by apologizing to the Cafe owner that you are early....unacceptable business setup

Verified reviewHosts were great, location was great, the space was great.
The bed was small and sagged into the middle too much. I didn’t sleep well neither did my partner.

Verified reviewWe had an overnight stay, room is very large and spacious. For us personally this was not a hotel, key collection is next door at a cafe and there are only 4 suites. Stairs to the rooms, so be mindful if you have heavy luggage. The doorways in room very low. The location is central with cathedral nearby.

Verified reviewThe bed!! I slept so well. The gentleman we got our keys from was so friendly. The rooms were amazing.
Parking! However, I knew up front it might be a problem and from living in Germany before, I was not surprised. That said, I would still stay here.

Verified reviewEverything ....very large room, an extra sitting room, good bed, pillows, comforters. Water, juices, tea, coffee in room. Bathroom clean and spacious. Host stored our luggage after we arrived but before we could check in. And again the next day after checkout but before our river cruise left.
Shower very slippery. Needs a mat or stickers on shower floor.

Verified reviewIt's a nice location, close to the main dome. The hotel building is an old one (medieval style), consisting in only 5-6 rooms (the most), which makes it a quiet place. The access via code was easy, we enjoyed the little treats that were placed in the room for us. Also appreciated the little coffee machine, water & juices available. Being situated into an old building, the ceiling is not very high so be aware that you might feel like 'Gulliver in the country of dwarfs' :) However this was not an inconvenient for us, we found it quite interesting.
The chandelier hanged above the bed makes it a bit uncomfortable, so maybe replacing it with a smaller one or a pendant light would be a better option. Be aware that if you are not driving a German car (personal or rented), you won't be able to park in the hotel area (nor on street, neither on dedicated garages) as you need a green pass to be able to enter in the old city area (or you risk a quite high penalty fee). For the 'outsiders' the parkings available are at a 15-20 min walking distance (outside of the old city area) and this was a real inconvenient especially when you're during a holiday and carry a lot of luggages with you. Moreover the hotel is advertised with a parking option 'available on the street' which is not 100% accurate.
