How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We were made aware that the bier garden for the attached restaurant was right outside our bedroom windows.

A number of stairs to get to our room. If a person had physical difficulties it would be hard on them. A very oddly layed out building.

Would have been nice to have been able to have dinner on site but the attached (separate business) restaurant/bar were closed, so there was a longish walk into town to find somewhere to eat and drink.
Room was very big and very clean, though strangely, below ground level, which made it feel a bit damp. Bathroom was very well finished, as was the whole room, with a very powerful shower. Breakfast was typical German continental, with an adequate selection. Free on site parking is always a bonus.

Price was excessive...as we stayed during football European championships.....normal price 80 euros per night....we paid 165....hardly fair

Didn’t affect me but it’s a little way (25min walk) to the centre.
Excellent overnight stay. Very close to VFL Bochum stadium (the purpose of my visit), plenty of free parking, friendly English speaking staff and large, clean comfortable room. Good choice of food at breakfast. The attached restaurant is also very good.

No coffee cooker in the room. This is the only negative part that I have.
The place is clean, easy to reach. Nice breakfast, better than normal 3 stars hotel. Free parking available, based on free parking spot. Nice room, quiet and clean. Big bathroom equipped with everything needed.

I didn't find anything I didn't like. It probably would be nice to have a lift or those metal ramps on the stairs to put your suitcase on.
Small but comfortable and well managed hotel near to the Starlight Express theatre. There was a great choice of hot and cold food at breakfast. Very clean hotel. Excellent place to stay if you are seeing the show as its an easy walk and no need to take transport there.

Really nice staff! Comfortable spacious rooms with renovated bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious - various bakery goods, cereals, jellys, fruits etc. Selection of ham and cheese. Would choose this hotel again!

Room was susterrain which I personally dislike. The table could have been a bit bigger. Susterrain has no elevator. They could notifiy guests that there is a shortcut to the tram on the other side of the street hidden behind the trees. To access "certain" webpages you have to use a vpn since their router is set on "family friendly". ;) All of those I consider minor inconveniences and can recommend a stay here with no doubt.
Really good breakfast. Small but a choice from everything especially the "Brotaufstrich", various different types of cheese and meat that you put on the different types of bread. Nice room. Stable wifi. Late check in via code possible. Really clean. Even parts that are often left out like the top of furniture etc. Spotless. Even in the dinning room any dirt was removed quickly. Had a chance to glance the head of staff at work which explains why everything is in order.
