We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

United KingdomA bit noisy from the road, can't do anything about it. The drain in the shower was slow - needs some attention.
The location was great for us. Large car park opposite the road in the small shopping area. We had no issues leaving the car there for the entire day - even when it's allowed 3 hrs parking. The tram takes 8 mins to Cologne centre. You can buy tickets on the tram. The team station is directly behind the apartment. Netto supermarket is across the road. Shell fuel station is only 200 m walk. Lidl supermarket is 7 mins walk. The apartment is okay. Water pressure in the shower is great. Noise is bearable once you close all windows. Balcony area is large but didn't use it - could have cleaned it. There is more than enough time to do this before the next tenants arrives. Kitchen amenities are suffice.. 😊. Need to bring your shower gel and hair shampoo. WiFi is fast enough for us. Easy direction to get into the property. Overall, a good stay.. 😊. Thank you Nanni for the quick replies to my questions - much appreciated.

AustraliaCoffee machine, but no pods to use. Free parking was not on street, but in supermarket parking. Others parked there and it was fine. Could watch the car.
Nice and clean, very warm and friendly. Lovely artwork. Good luck and we wish you all success with your rental property. Thankyou very much. Supermarket next door easy to get groceries. Nice Italian restaurant in the main town on the tram line.
