How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Water heating capacity seems to be inconsistent. There’s no hairdryer, and offered only 2 hand towels. There’s a coffee maker but there’s no ground coffee provided. There’s no elevator.
Walking distance from train station. The bed was comfortable. The environment was peaceful. Easy contactless check-in and check-out.

Appartment does not include towels and (enough) toilet paper, so take this with you. Shower is dangerous as there are many broken sharp parts in it. It's not the best appartment, but it's also pretty cheap so did not expect luxury.
Enough space, well equipped kitchen with good working freezer and fridge. Easy and free parking in the street. Supermarket around the corner, open til 21:00. Easy and quick check-in and check-out. Clear information from owner.

It's uncomfortable to bring heavy luggage with stairs, because there's no elevator. The furniture was broken and wasn't very clean.

It was quite confusing getting the key to get in. I had been told my arrival time was 3pm and that the host would txt me how to get in. I waited outside for some time, hoping somebody would arrive, and when they didn't, I rang the number given for the place. The host told me over the phone to come inside and go up two flights of stairs. On doing so, a man emerged from the adjacent apartment and gave me the key. It was very helpful that I speak reasonably good German; I am not sure I would have got in without that.
As I was arriving and departing in Solingen by train, this was a very handy apartment because it is near Solingen Hauptbahnhof, which is not in the city centre but out at Ohligs, a suburb. It has a trolleybus to the city at the door, also very handy. It was a nice clean comfortable apartment with a fully equipped kitchen -- I appreciated having an electric jug to make tea; something missing from many places I have stayed in the past two weeks in Germany, Austria and Denmark. Oh and the fridge was the only one I have had in any of the places I have stayed.

Rooms too cold. Even with 2 blankets I felt cold. New blankets, sheets and a new bed and this apartment would be great! Guests also deserve a fresh towel that doesn't look like a "rag"
Location close to the train station of Solingen. Smooth check-in. Big size.

All furniture and bathroom, kitchen is old and needs refurbishment. I would pay not more than 70eur per night. But i payed 94.- thats too much for flat in such condition. Also some windows were opening to main street. Thats too noisy. 3 floor by old stairs.

No toilet paper (only a bidet function), lamp in the living room had only 3 bulbs instead of 12. The whole apartment needs a major refresh: the entire bathroom (including bathroom doors), walls, most windows, floor - they are old, look bad and are noisy (squeaky). The doors to enter the building from the street were open with no lock.
Good location close to train station, quiet area, whole apartment available.

Needs to provide a few more towels. Bathrooms need hand towels. Would also prefer the street side door locked.
Location was perfect for our visit. Family was only a 10 minute walk. Grocery store 3 minute walk and the Train station was a 15 minute walk

The apartment was dirty. The dishes in the dishwasher were dirty, and before cooking, we had to wash them. Also the toilet was dirty. The bed sheets seemed like they were used. It felt disgusting to stay in an apartment with someone elses dirt! I really hope you learn from your mistakes, and nobody else has to stand this dirtyness anymore. The worst night on our trip! and we stayed in over ten different apartments about the same price…
The apartment was spaceous, and easy to access.

Flooring was too poor, not proper heating inside, bath shower was not performing well. Room lights inside were too low & poor. kitchen accessaries were at its lowest.
The only thing about apartment is wonderful is Location. otherwise owner has provided with minimum he can give to the guests
