How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewThe location is wonderful. Right close to the river and the boat station. The view is also gorgeous. The restaurant located at the last level is a huge plus, as you can have a first row seat to probably one of the best views in Hamburg. The room had a good size and there was a kettle and tea ready to he used.
Well.. we were warned about the toilet and shower flushing noise, but I did not quite imagine the choir of people flushing their toilets all.around the building. Though, we did eventually got used to it and we managed to sleep. The bigger problem, for me was the fact that the sheets seemed to be ... if not dusty, then something. The blanket under the cover had a blood stain, and the towels in the bathroom, had holes in them. Also ... the room had a view to the interior of the building, so be careful to check that if you are looking for a room with a view. Of some sort.

Réception really bad and on the 8 floor . Rooms 2-4 floor . Lift slow . Receptionist spectaculary slow. Smell if fish and chips on the 2 floor . Room to open with 12 digit codes which won’t work. Room hot and no air conditioning. Toilets in the room work with some pump system like on a yacht . Bathroom no day light and painted in black . Noisy street . So all in all really bad value for money .

Verified reviewBreakfast has a decent spread with multiple options to suit different individual tastes. Staff was helpful and speaks fluent English and Deutsch. Rooms have nice views of the harbor yet are relatively quiet. Bathrooms are compact but functional and elegant.

I didn’t see any staff for the entirety off my stay. I’d describe it more as a modern boarding house rather than a hotel. All doors open by key codes which proved to be very difficult to operate. When I arrived the steps up to the entrance were blocked by drinking concert visitors.

The sound of the toilet and the shower is just annoying plus you can listen the sound of the vacuumed toilets and showers from the room above and next to you, so if your neighbors are up early you are gonna be up as well you like it or not; the parking is a nightmare with how small is.
