The location of the property is perfect with a pedestrian path through the woods across the street and a bus stop right in front. The staff is friendly, welcoming and able to communicate with us English speakers. The bed was comfortable and we slept well with no disruptions. Breakfast was lovely. We would stay again. .

I traveled light, but note that single rooms are on an upper floor so you have to carry suitcases up stairs.

Perfect location for my visit, lovely breakfast and the staff was so nice that they prepared my room for an early check in when I called to request. My single room was very small but very comfortable. I would stay again.

Bit dated though, and shame the restaurant was closed on the day I was there. Key self check-in is also not what's expected of a hotel, but it worked. Inattentive staff had me pay double for the room as already paid online. Took a while to get that sorted, but eventually they rectified the mistake.

Arriving cold and wet after a long motorcycle ride it was really bad to find out there were no staff to check-in with. Having to read through multiple emails to gain access to the premises was a real pain. As was finding out that the restaurant was closed, the main reason I'd booked in the first place. Why don't hotels get forced to put on their advert which night their restaurants are closed?

We got a room in Attic and the upper floors were not accessible by elevator and this information was not provided while booking. The beds were super unconfortable and the location was bit off with very less frequent public transportation. The rating of 7 only was for staff and their warm hospitality.

The hospitality was amazing and the hotel staff tried making our stay more comfortable. Even though there is no policy or service available for keeping the luggage after check out, but they did not hesitant to provide this help too. Moreover on the day of easter we were given a Lindt Rabbit as a sweet gesture!! Amazing service and hospitality.

Unfortunately the WiFi didn’t work well at all. I couldn’t get it in the room or breakfast area. Tea and coffee is located in the corridor on level one so not the easiest when you are on level 2. Parking is only on the street with a few spots.

Lack of air-conditioning

We were in transit and we enjoyed stay in this place. It offered convenient location, nice area with free parking. We got good breakfast - all what was needed to rest before continuing holiday trip.

The bed is very soft.

The hotel is dog-friendly (12 euro), the room is simple but complete, clean and has a separate bathroom with a good shower. It suited well for one night. The breakfast was plain but good, understandable because it is a small hotel. The staff was very helpful and advised a great restaurant at walking distance.

No personnel at the hotel. Breakfast was not super, Bread tasted like it was already a day old. We wanted to ask something to the owner. But there was no reply via all the ways we tried. It says they have a parking, But there is none. They suggest to park at a public place 2 streets further.

Although located in the suburbs of Freiburg , the integrated transport system (tram, bus, rail on 1 ticket) makes it easy to get around both the town and the lower reaches of the Black Forest ( a zone 3 day travel ticket is €9 per person). The property has a good restaurant with friendly staff.

The check-in process could be quite challenging (please read the instruction sent by hotel on the check-in day carefully and everything will go smoothly). Apart from that, the bed could be too short for taller persons.

A very pleasant small hotel in a traditional German style in a quiet neighbourhood of Freiburg. The old town is reachable in 15 mins by bus. The staff is very kind and welcoming, the breakfast is hearty and tasty. The room is quite small but has all the necessary facilities. Last but not least, a very reasonable price. Definitely recommended.

We arrived at a 'closed' hotel with no personell what so ever in sight. Only a mail that we had to get our key through a outdoor safe. No welcome, everything dark. And it seemed that this is more the rule than exception. They should mention it during booking, not afterwards! If one pays e.g. € 75,00 for a room, then I would understand it; but we paid no less then any other good hotel which respects its guests. Furthermore we booked (and paid) for two adults and one child (5y) but got only one double bed. Matras was terrible. No thank you.
