How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I should have read the small print: because I booked through you instead of ringing the hotel directly, breakfasts were twice as expensive.?
Difficult to rate ‘romance’. The hotel is fine, the Tiergarten is close, but the graffiti around the SBahn detract a bit.

The cooler didn’t work and to hot in the room as no AC now when it was hot summer day.

I think price is but expensive but I believe it’s because of this district generally higher than expected
It’s old but quite nice place to stay so you can feel the atmosphere of the historic city and very clean. It was close to S-Bahn so you may reach city center and other transfer stations.

The shower in the bathroom was small, the shower head was leaking, the water struggle to drain in the shower, and the sink didn't have cold water coming out of it. With these issues the price may have been a bit high.
The room size was very good. The bed had double pillows, which is always a positive! The building was unique, and staff were very friendly! The hotel may appear out of the way but it is very close to both S and U Bahn stations.

Very nice breakfast -- copious and fresh. Location is better than it seems. The hotel looks a little isolated, but in fact it is near four major S-Bahn lines that go right into the center city.

Poor WiFi. A challenge to manage online travel arrangements. This ought to be remedied as it can get quite annoying when attempting to arrange flights and the connection is sporadic. Scaffolding outside the window was a jarring surprise upon arrival as the entire building is under construction/repair. Seems to me this could have been disclosed prior to finalizing the booking.
Peasant staff. Bright, spacious, comfortable, clean room. Apples in the lobby were a nice touch. Harmless, handsome fox by the pretty nearby river was a fun and unexpected encounter. More usefully - a short walk along this river and over the bridge leads to very good Italian restaurant and a charming French bistro.

Even though everything was good, we always like our breakfast to offer more choices, we got a sweet tooth while traveling so some crepes/pancakes are always welcome for example. Parking is very challenging, even though I wrote a request to reserve a spot, there were none available at our arrival. Not a huge deal but for travelers who do not know, it's worth checking for options.
Really enjoyed our stay, there was literally nothing wrong, the staff was lovely, the bed comfy, the room very spacious (almost too much if you can believe it)! It's very easy to commute to the city from the hotel.

Outside was under renovation
Outside is under renovation, but I stayed over the weekend so there was no disturbance. Inside is an eclectic artsy decor. Rooms are big. Service was very good.

The (free) WiFi was a bit slow.
Good central location (5 mins on foot from S-Bahn station Tiergarten) on a quiet street. Room with a nice view. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
