Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe hostel is along a noisy street : it doesn't matter when the windows are closed, but we could'nt do this due to the warm weather, so it was not so quiet as expected.
A nice youth hostel close to citycenter and to Warnemunde by tram and S-Bahn. It was also easy to have a carpark place. The location for 2 people was very clean and spacious.

The vibe, the badroom, and the location. Also, there was a common kitchen, and the affordable breakfast with oat milk.

GermanyCheck-in time is very inconvenient from 3pm to 6pm. Most people come to Warnemünde for the beach. To get from there to the hostel and check in, you need to spend 40 minutes here and 40 back, a total of minus 2 hours from a vacation on the beach. The hostel is located at the intersection of two busy roads. Soundproofing in the room is zero - through a closed window you can hear all the traffic from the intersection until 2am. Also early in the morning you can hear all the doors and people inside. It is difficult to sleep here. To the cost of the room itself add 7.4 euros per day per 1 person resort fee, which is not mentioned anywhere until check-in.
The hostel itself is clean and very comfortable. The staff is friendly. The showers are clean with designer renovation. Breakfast is quite decent - you can pack yourself a sandwich, make oatmeal and coffee.

GermanyCleanliness - could be tidier. Especially the bathroom, the mirror needs to be cleaned, the sink had hair on it, the hair comb was dusty. Additional payment - I had to pay 11.10 euros for a stay in the city for two days. This should be written when booking a hotel. The email arrives when you have already done everything.
Location - good, safe. Connection by public transport is excellent. Staff - very friendly staff. Shops - very close to Aldi store. Room - warm, good for a short stay. I was in a room with a bathroom, alone. Separate house, excellent. Kitchen - well equipped for those who want to cook. Internet - excellent.

NorwayA big road and street train beside/behind the building, can be noisy if you like to sleep with open windows or are very sensitive for noise. Noise-insulated windows, so not too bothersome.
Modern, nice and clean. Free parking and nice outside area to hang out. Friendly staff.

BelgiumAll was fine! We had a small misunderstanding and arrived at the wrong location (they have 2 blue hostels in Rostock), but that was our mistake - just pay attention you go directly to the right place.
One of the best youth hostels I've ever been. Extreme friendly staff, very nice location in the city, decent rooms and sanitary, what more does one need? And secret tip: go to the bakery at the next corner to try their blend of a croissant and pretzel!

TurkeyDue to an event that weekend we stayed, the rooms were very pricy. So one expects excellent service and maximum cleanness for that price obviously. However, the room was not that clean, and the bathroom and the toilette was actually dirty :(
Staff is amazing, thanks for the great welcome :) Also the location is just amazing, it is easy to reach different parts of the city easily!
